So here's whats going dow--I want to know how you all feel about the album, in your own words.  So this is your chance to play music editor--XXL gave my album an XL--what would you give it?

So what i'm looking for is a critique of my album, track for track.  Tell me what you liked--what you didn't like--what collabo's you thought worked, what you would like to see next from me, etc.

All entries must be sent to my inbox with the title "TEK GIVEAWAY". Please leave your mailing address, as the top 50 entries will be sent an autographed copy of my brand new mixtape hosted by Clinton Sparks and Big Mike.

This is a one time offer--which i will run for one week!!! (ENDING NOV. 6)

Tek,

To be honest; some of my favorite albums and artists take some time to absorb into my psyche and the I-Pod thing fucks with that. Makes it convenient to not buy albums. But at one time I wasn't feeling your boy Talib. And now he's is in my top 5 current favorite emcees and he's been there for several years! "Music Makes Me..." is crazy. I gotta hear the rest between some good headphones to really absorb your vibes.

RESPECT,

Uncle L

the album is an abolute classic it really spoke to me in so many different ways. the concepts were complete and applicable to life. To be honest "we can do it" got skipped felt a lil cliche.

Current mood: angry
Category: Blogging
This BLOG is to inform the world that Talib Kweli is a LIAR, THIEF, and a COWARD. On November 26, 2006 at SAJE Talib had the opportunity to see and met the REAL BLACKSMITH RECORDS. And when John Michael King-Smith confronted him and told Talib that he (John Michael King-Smith) was Blacksmith Records and they needed to have a sit down talk about it. Talib replied OK. John said how about now. Talib said, I have a show to do. John, I will meet you there. Talib, OK and drove off. Talib did not get around the corner, and Talib called Carl (the organizer for the event at SAJE) and ask him to tell John to call his manager Dora (because Talib is a coward). John did and she said I know nothing about this, I will talk to Talib and call you back. That was a lie she never called back (coward). So all the activists in the room at SAJE know you are NOT Blacksmith Records. Every one at SAJE received a copy of the Cease and Desist letter that you received on 9/11/2006.  How can you  be the founder of  a company in 2005 that had already exist in 1997 and commercial in 2000? We had our first Blacksmith Records board meeting at the SAJE house on Kenwood in 2002,  we incorporated in 2003 in Delaware and became 501(c)(3) in 2004, did a radio interview on 90.7FM in 2005 (you can here the interview on our website: www.blacksmithrecords.org), received a Google Grant in 2006.  We did all of this living 200% below the poverty level and sometimes homeless.   Talib Kweli you are NOT Blacksmith Records take Blacksmith out of your mouth. You have bamboozled the world.  We at Blacksmith Records are calling you OUT.

To the Wave News Paper, Vibe Magazine, The Steve Harvey show at KDAY 95.3FM, KPWR 105.9 The Big Boy Show, XM Radio, 106 & Park, and any one else that has put this LIAR, THIEF, and COWARD out as Blacksmith Records we are asking you to please do the home work and give us rebuttal time. It would be the right thing to do.

PLEASE DO THE  READING AT: www.BLACKSMITHRECORDS.ORG and find out the truth . Written by Gretta King-Smith, CEO of Blacksmith Records, Inc. And I was there. You can find this BLOG on www.myspace.com/blacksmithrecords and www.myspace.com/jondoe .

Man the album is crazy though 4real. Shit when im at work your album is what gets me through the evening i go from song 1 to the last on repeat. lol real talk though
As far as the collabs go, I feel them all there is only 1 collab that i was kinda iffy on but the song itslef is ill. Its the where it started at. I know pappoosse is new to the game but i didnt think he fit well over that track thass just my opinion though. 1-800-homocide man the girls at work was laffin, they  heard me trying to hit them notes cause i be singin along with the hook. Man if i was to sit here and critique the whole album i'll be here all day. But i dont read the xxl magazine so i dont know what they rates is like. If my opinion matterd iwould give it a classic stamp(A Certified Classic). Oh i forgot that So tired Pretty Ugly,Devin,Bun-B over that beat was a great choice. Keep it moving motivates me man, if i ever get frustrated bout my struggle in wit finances and life itself and the half-ass niggas around me,  This Track Puts it all into perspective. Aite im gone shut-up nowcause im prolly sounding like a (Male Groupie)"No Homo"--Cam.
To sum it all up the album is crazy Man!

When the next 1 drop im on it!

Yo Tek, you are the way, truth and the light on the beats. You are in my top five favorite hip-hop producers. #3 actually, but that's not bad compared to who's #1 and #2. (DJ Quik being #1, Dr. Dre #2, Hi-Tek #3, Nottz#4, Timbaland #5)            One day I aspire to you level of excellence as a producer. Don't Stop.

"TEK GIVEAWAY"

first i want to tell you how much i like your style of beats and how they sound they sound so real like you used only real natural instruments! and i like your features like ayak. you have to work more with women which sing from her souls, i love soulmusic and its perfect if its mixed wit hip hop my 3 favourite tracks on your new album: 1)can't we go back 2)josephine 3)music is 4 life
and now some bad critics
the track wit busta rhymes i don't like, because the beat is to boring. i think in contrast to your other beats there is no life in this one.
and dat track named baby we can do it i like but i think its not really your style its you used too much pop-elements! peace out and one love! i hope my critics will help you in da future!
i think another album with talib kweli is something you have to do in future and some concerts in germany spacally in hannover! sorry 4 my bad english peace!

I thought Keep it movin was the hardest joint on there.  I always thought Kurupt was a slept on lyricist and its always good to hear Q-tip make a guest appearance, especially with music being in the state it is now.  That "so tired" joint with Bun and Devin is hot.  I liked the beat for "Baby we could do it" but I would've rather heard someone else rhyme to it.  That Ghost verse on Josephine was hot, and Can we go back was some chill shit to smoke to.  Production wise I'd give it an XL but only cuz I've heard some of your other beats that would crush some of the ones on HT2, lyrical content wise XL

I've been bumping your CD all week and all year for that matter....

I listen to "keep it moving", everyday, in my opinion the illest track on the CD next to "People Goin' Down"....MORE DION COLLABOs he is super nice, he has a great voice.

"Can We Go Back", "March", and "Josephine" are dope also....I think everybody loved Busta and Ghostface!

I'm a bit late but MAN, this album is retarded. It really doesn't make too much sense for it to be so damn hot. Everything was stepped up. Every flow you ripped was on point. Ever guest emcee/singer was on point. Every beat was on point. I mean, star quality material. My favorite album of 2007 so far. You don't know but you will yet but mark my words: we'll be working together soon. Remember thePhantom*...

I liked the tracks that I heard
Im not big in hiphop or rnb but when a person can sing
or when a person can rhyme
just basically when I feel a little emotion behind the music I like it
I dabbled in some kind industrial hiphop on a couple of my four music pages
making beats singing rhyming yelling
I kinda think Im good
soo thats more of a complement to you
if I can get passed my selfabsorbed attituted to listen to a few of your songs in full
and enjoy them
that says a lot

so keep rockin
