The past year has been massive for the Central Coast three-piece, known as Short Stack
myspace.com/shortstackband. They've had more than 4million plays on their MySpace profile, their single Sway Sway Baby debuted at #2 on the ARIA Charts and in 2008 won Channel [V] OZ Artist Of The Year Award.
In the midst of all the hype, Short Stack haven't forgotten their roots; and as thanks to MySpace friends for being the 'blood that pumps through its veins' the band performed a rockin' Secret Show for 300 diehard fans at the Gold Coast Arts Centre.
Punters were asked to come dressed in white as a twist to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated new album - Stack Is the New Black - out on that day. If you haven't bought a copy yet, you can purchase online
here. MySpace Users well and truly embraced the theme, the sea of white screaming kids that lined up outside the Gold Coast Arts Centre from as early as 10am were rewarded for their passion, as Short Stack delivered a truly electrifying and energetic set.
Well known for their style, Short Stack took to the stage dressed in theme also. We loved Andy in his white fringed jacked and top hat, Shaun in his white double-breasted military jacket and Bradie's white blazer with rhinestone trims. Amazing!!!
Short Stack's energetic performance rocked the room. They engaged in playful banter with the audience and between themselves whilst on stage. The crowd sang along to every word of every song the band performed and in particular absolutely lost it when the band performed favourites Sway Sway Baby, Shimmy A Go Go & Princess.
I have to say my highlight from the show was when a girl threw her bra on stage. Ha! That was totally old school for such a new school crowd.
It's not hard to see why devotees of the band are so passionate. Short Stack are so good to their fans. They allowed 20 lucky MySpace Users to come and meet them backstage after the show. Taking the time to personally sign posters and pose for photos. It's really great to see bands appreciating the ongoing support of their fans.
MySpace would like to thank Shaun, Andy & Bradie from Short Stack for their brilliant performance; Sarah Chin at UMA, Chris at Sunday Morning Records and John Zucco at The Right Profile; Darlene, Jason and the GCAC staff; Dane Beesley Photography; The Picture Club and Mathematics.
