That song is very true, y'know?

My favorite local rock station has just recently went automated.  No longer, are there any djs to listen to.  For several years, the station was fun.  Great rock, personalities you could connect with.  Then over the past year or two things slowly started to change.  Different DJs coming and going.  Airtimes changing.  They started broadcasting sports games at night, when didn't never did before.

Then they added the Adam Carolla Show in the morning.  AWFUL! I used to listen to the station every morning on the drive to work, the DJ ("Mary Ann Rocks!") usually played Metallica at the same time everyday, it was great.  Imagine, banging out to master of puppets to ready yourself for the daily grind.  but that changed.  Adam Carolla, give me a fucking break.

and then just last week, the station went fully computerized AND changed formats from rock to variety.  just song after song, with a computer quickly giving the song title and artist before moving on to the next song.  boring radio. the whole point of listening to the radio is for the DJs.  otherwise, why not just listen to a CD? or MP3 player?  i guess that's what i'll just have to do from now on.  radio IS crap.

and if you're wondering, I'm talking about YOU, KSEK 99.1 FM.  BOO!  i won't be listening to you anymore.  perhaps i should let your advertisers know this.

here's to you, tom petty.  there WENT the last DJ...
