After our first week in community, and before our "Blog" Track begins... here are some quick samples of what folks wanted to share from their journals about the first week of Play On!

My first week here at Play On was …
• full of information, it was very exciting.
• a fun place to meet others, make new friends, and learn new things.
• interesting because it was my very first day of my job and my first job.

I got to express myself, which is really important to me cause I don't really get to express myself.

I learned lots of new things, such as getting to know one another and also getting to know how he or she thinks and feels like.

We learned what other people feel, think, and their opinions. We made 'frames' to see how do the people feel when they're sad. And we explored the questions of "What is a community?"

I've met a lot of new people and there are so many faces and the participants are more diverse than the previous Play On! Tis very exciting.

I also got more familiar with the play, Hamlet and I'm actually excited to finish reading it.

Interesting play, like always, Shakespeare always writes beautiful plays.

Hamlet faces a lot of conflicts in his life.

What I enjoyed is reading the play and wondering how this cd is gonna be made.

I want to get to the music.

The way the program is heading. I want to improve by the end and show that I do contribute my thoughts and voice, plus go and do the activities to my fullest potential.

Self expression and risk taking are two key points that I pray this program will emphasize and improve in me.

I learned that there's tons of ways to express yourself such as viewpoints.

We as a community got acquainted with guidelines and fellow co-workers.

Play On! is a place where people can learn how to communicate with each other and learn more about themselves.

I believe that this week has been one of the most challenging but fun weeks out of all the weeks of summer(s) I have experienced.

Putting yourself out there for everyone to see who you are and how you act, your style, it's so awesome!

I learned a lot within this week. I had lots of fun interacting with my fellow workers. I love my new community.

Everyone here is like a community.

I hope to explore more things and develop new friendships with everyone.

-- Stay Tuned and check back! More next week... perhaps even a sample music track...
