Back in the 80's there was filmed a movie that was called "
Oi Pontioi". The film was about 2 immigrant Greeks who have been in Germany and they decided to return to Greece when they learned that the other Greeks were making jokes out of their heritage. The movie was a comedy. The actors' lines are still memorable up to this day.
I saw the "Hebrew Hammer" the day before. Not a very good time to stay at home and this movie is not what the doctor had ordered. The plot is pathetic; the evil son of Santa wants to eradicate the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, so that everyone would celebrate Christmas. The usual Jewish stereotypes were exposed into this movie. And that's where the genius goes South.
Some scenes were nice, but they were all dried up. There was no comedy there. It's a pity that Judy Greer was playing there (even though she looked sexy enough as a Redhead and she is a favorite of mine, I detest her role).
In general, this movie is not for any genre. It's for when you are really drunk and you have to get sober really quick.
