Performance

Yes finally an answer to Shiny Toy Guns from the UK. This electro power pop 4 piece have nothing but hits. All the songs on they're myspace sound great. Especially their wicked cover of the Tom Petty classic Free Fallin. If only it was released as a single it would definitely be a top 10 hit. The band are made up of two sisters and two childhood friends called Joe. With this strong bond it sounds like they have been playing for years and years but this band are pretty new on the UK scene. The songs they have already would be the perfect accompaniment to any house party or any club night.

Futuristic Retro Champions

Its not very often I hear the first 30 seconds of a bands tune for the first time and burst into the pointy pointy dance. However on this occasion I did. Think the best way to sum them up is a bit of Arcade Fire mixed with a bit of Stars. They mix pretty vocals with synth, guitars and a trumpet, yes a trumpet! Something which theirs not enough of in modern music. Everyone's all about the guitars or samples nowadays. So its refreshing to hear some good unique music coming out of the uk. I'd keep an eye on this bunch. I get the feeling everyone will be seeing a lot more of them in the near future.

MissOddKidd

It helps to return comments, because if I didn't I wouldn't have found the goodness that is MissOddKidd on a friends profile. After I found out who the act was I couldn't drag my self away from her myspace page. Theirs some cheeky wee remixes on there too that complement her music greatly. This girl has the model looks and the catchy beats to take her far. I expect a major label will be picking her up any day now.

Level Four

Just a few weeks back I was complaining how there is no good British guitar bands like Hundred Reasons, My Vitriol and Hell Is For Heroes but I have found the act that can change my view on my complaint. They are called Level Four they make great that great indie pop rock that the uk music market is missing just now. Well I think the only bands that are similar just now are The Enemy and Komakino. So that's only two out of what should be hundreds even thousands. Back to the band these chaps songs sound that good that you just now they'd be amazing live all the songs have sing-along qualities with them ranging from little quirky pop numbers right through to the anthem that is "Walking on Glass". My Favourite is though Furtherance its got good vocals, guitars and brilliant vocals that sound Scottish. Theirs to many bands nowadays that don't sound like where there from which a shame. So its good to see home grown talent like this. Im looking forward to seeing this band live now after hearing them and after listening to them im sure you will too.

Amber

What a pretty, pretty voice. Amber is a 20 year old from the granite city (Aberdeen) has one of the sweetest voices you'll ever hear. You know if she entered one of these crappy xfactor shows she'd clear up. You know with some acts you either love or hate their voice. Its totally different with amber I doubt anyone can hate her voice. When she puts it to her music the songs sound well structured and beautiful. Perfect for any rainy day or a quiet night in. I feel with big production behind her she can be of the same stature as Scott Matthews or Seth Lakeman. Lets hope this happens soon.

The Panther

I got the first Performance EP last year. Not sure if they have changed much since then, but it was a bit overly 80s throw back for my liking. Not in an "Influnced by the 80s" sort of way, more a uneasily familiar way.
Good as usual though old boy.
