It is with deep, deep sadness I've learned about the death of Kristin Berglund.  Surely one of the sweetest, talented and feisty musicians it was EVER my  priviledge to meet.

We met at the Hell Blues Festival in her native Norway, and I was bowled over with not only her talent, but her warmth and generousity of spirit.

I KNOW that there are those who compared her with Bonnie Raitt. All I can say is that Bonnie's an enormous star to aim toward and that Kristin DELIVERED with so much soul it was jaw-dropping!! Everyone needs  heroes, and I believe Bonnie would be enormously flattered by Kristin's nod in her direction.

Her original material showed she had a mind of her own. She was no mere 'tribute' or copyist. She was a first class artist in her own right.

There were a lot of losses in 2006. I am desolate to count Kristin amongst them!
