Damn...
Just got power and internet back after 7 days without and I'm feeling pretty lucky. Looks like half the city is still without - most of my neighborhood included.

We had it really easy. Our neighbors are all awesome and we had a pretty good time, all things considered...plenty of alcohol helped. Nothing like hot vodka and pineapple juice to make a blackout tolerable. All in all, it turned out to be a really good chance to get to know our neighbors and spend some time away from computers, tv, work, etc.

Was getting kinda antsy about making music but fortunately most of my stuff is battery powered so I could still jam out. Doc and I recorded a couple of Ike Jams on a little pocket recorder..will probably post on the t.wai site soon.

glad to hear you guys got through it ok. when my girlfriend and I got our power back, we were almost crying we were so happy! but yep, I agree it was a good reality check, a chance to meet other folks in the hood and better understand we are all in this together. that feeling of brotherhood-sisterhood will fade over time as everybody gets back to their TV's, DVD players, desktops and videogames, but maybe we can all hold on to some of that feeling.
I also became aware of how spoiled we are in todays society, with our standard of living, all of our high-tech toys that we think we will die without. its sorta like being pulled off the Matrix....... somebody yanks the tubes out and its time for a major reality check.
looking forward to hearing the "Ike Jams"!

Glad all is well.

I went to College Station for the storm and brought my laptop + interfaces and left my guitars up high, luckily we got power back on Monday and nothing was fubar; sans a fence or two...

Back to music making!
