If you live in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia area come and check me out for an evening on Tattoos and Taboos, the controversial topic of Jews getting inked. Can you be buried in a Jewish cemetery if you have a tattoo? Whats going on with celebrities who aren’t Jewish getting Hebrew tattoos? I’ll answer these questions and more at the event.

When: Sunday, October 25 at 7:00 pm

Where: Sixth & I Historic Synagogue

600 I St. NW – Washington, DC

Hi Ami, I asked my Lubavitch Doc here in the UK about the Jewish Cem question as it's been haunting me for a while lol well ever since my Mum started blackmailing me about it when she saw my first tattoo LOL and since you're ALL the way over there couldn't exactly predict or wait to hear from you on topic!! Wish could make it over as that sounds great. I also think it's incredibly progressive of the Shul to have you there - it just wouldn't happen here, the UK is utterly retentive.
Love, Racheal. x.

I have an Aunt who works in a Jewish day school. A very prominent one in NYC. She was told by one of the Rabbi's that it is not true.  That you can be buried in a Jewish cemetery if you have them. They just discourage people from getting them. Something relating to the numbers Jews were given during the holocust. I had her ask for me for I have four tattoos and my mom gave me the speech once and then I asked my aunt to ask. My mom has never mention it to me ever again.

..This is pretty intereting!....I love tattoos and here is my personal opinion: Tattoo will not change your character or your pesonality... it's only a change/improvement for the looks.....So no matter what your beliefs are, if you are into getting a tattoo go for it! With all my respects for people's beliefs and preferences, life is too short to be wasted in not doing our best to be happy and not doing things that can please us without hurting anybody of course (not even ourselves). Respect people, respect animals and respect nature. And just live and enjoy your life the best way you can.....
