heres the write up i wrote for the liner notes.....DFA losers.

Growing up in Brandon, Mb as a aspiring rapper was often frustrating
& lonely. Being the first rapper from Brandon was both good &
bad in terms of creativity & inspiration. Brandon never saw any rap
shows and rap music was scarce & almost entirely unavailable at
A&A records & tapes. Dj Hunnicutt & i would go to punk rock
house parties in the hopes of getting on the mic & jamming out a
rap tune with local punk hereos Swiller or Iron Bacon. As Farm Fresh we started
playing all kinds of punk & weirdo shows, opening for Red Fisher,
Meatrack, Grand Theft Canoe, Tangleshack, Garage People & others.
As 3 white guys that rapped about Matlock & the akwardness of
losing our virginity we seemed right at home on these bills. I took
alot of inspiration from the strange stage shows put on by
Skingerbreadman & Frek Sho. It was music based access shows like
Johnny Sizzle's Entertainment Watch & DJ Bunny's Spotlite that
brought the odd & unavailable into our homes. People like them that
loved music so much & would stop at nothing to share that love of
the often slept on & overlooked bands & groups that they
related to & rocked out with. So although Shaw TV no longer allows
community based programing, we do still have radio stations like CKUW
broadcasting the the words & sounds of Winnipeg & the weird. My
choice to cover a Johnny Sizzle song was based on a respect for his
dedication to local & real music. Someone who also made music with
a sense of humor & anxiety to it that i can relate to. And
besides....Propaghandi wanted to cover Econoline Crush & Novillero
beat me to the Crash Test Dummies joint.....Oh Yeahhhh!
