Thursday, March 06, 2008

Ok,

So as you all know I went to a number of Dr's on Tues and we got great news from one and bad news from another.  The radiologist (Dr Trooper) who by the way is amazing told us that he was going to do eveything that took to get ride of the tomors that I have on my lung lining.  Then we went over to see the Oncologist and he basicaly told us that they do not have a prodical for stage 4 melanoma and that maybe I should think about going on clincal trial.  Which means that I would be a human lab rat to see if the drugs that put in me would work and if not oh well.  So needless to say we walked out of there feeling really down. Like he slapped a toe tag on me.

I had a scheduled appointment the next day to go get my CT/PET scan.  So Matthew and I got up early and had that done.  The results from the scan is that the cancer has NOT spread into my lung or into anyother part of my body.  It is ONLY in the plural (lining of my lung)  this is fantastic news.  After the scan we had an appointment with a Naturopathic Specialist (natural).  He also works along side Dr. Trooper.  Now this was another great visit.  This is his suggestion for treatment.

Having a vaccine made out of my own tumor.  Then they inject it into your lyph nodes.  The vaccine is not done here in the states so we would be trucking outselves down to the Bahamas.  WOW what a place to go for treatment HUH.

I would have the surgery there, wait about 10 days for the vaccine to be made and the I would get around 2-6 shots, come home and then 1 month later go back for another shot, and then 1 month after that another.

He also wants to build up my immunity and my streghth before, so i am going on an almost vegan diet.  I will be having IV Vitamin C 3 times a week and doing some low impact workouts to build up my boby.

I am going to see another Oncologist tomorrow, but we will see.  We just feel that why put poison (chemo) in my body when you can have a vaccine made out of your own body.  I think and I feel in my heart that God wants us to try the vaccine.  That is were we are being lead to.

So continue to pray and again no pressure, but I do not have any insurace and the bills are starting to add up.  Just the vaccine alone will be around $15K.

I love you all and I feel each and everyone of your prayers.

I will post again when I know more. Also Jodi had started a blog and there will pictures and videos of our journey all the way.

you can donate to paypal.com to   wendyclark@cox.net

Again all my,

Wheat

OMG.....Wendy, this is GREAT NEWS!! I'm so optomistic about the treatment plan you've chosen. You are such an inspiration to me, you have a wonderful attitude toward this and you're TRUSTING IN GOD!!!!! Even though I don't know you personally, I can tell that you have such a passion for life and you are NOT willing to give up without a FIGHT....(which is what a lot of people would do) and I'm so proud of you!! I have this very strong feeling that GOD brought you into my life for a reason...even though it's through myspace. I'm not sure what the reason is, but I have a feeling that I will know in due time. I have posted a bulletin on myspace asking all my friends to pray for you & encouraged them to check out your profile. They have never let me down when I've posted a prayer request, they've always rallied and prayed and reposted the prayer requests....it reaches so many people that way. It's so good to know that there are people in this world who actually care about others, even if they are complete strangers. I will continue to keep you as well as your family in my prayers and continue to donate to you each week (even if it's only $1.00 a week) those add up; I will send more as I can. In the meantime, keep your FAITH and STAY STRONG!!

LOTS OF LOVE,
Wanda Scott

Wendy, this is great news and I know the vaccine will work, I just have a really good feeling about it. I wish I could help you out by donating but I'm going through hell financially so I can only offer my prayers.

Be strong, girl! You'll get through this.

love,

Luci

Wow! what a place to have to go for treatment. I agree with you choice of treatment. I'm not a fan of medication at all. So what a better thing to put into your body then something that came out. I think about and pray for you often.

I love getting your updates. I think about you all the time and wonder how you're feeling and doing up- to- the- minute. I don't know you personally, but I do believe God made our paths cross for a reason. I just found out that my mom may have Mesothelioma, so you and your courage and strength have given me hope, and I can't thank you enough. Please continue to update us. If you find out more about this new treatment, would you let us know? I am really interested in learning how your own tumor can be used as a treatment. That sounds amazing! What will they come up with next? Wendy, just know that miracles DO exist!! I look forward to your updates and you and your family and friends continue to be at the top of my prayer list!

Wendy-
Sounds like you have a great treatment option...that is wonderful news. The fact that the cancer has not metasti<myspace>size</myspace>d is also encouraging. That aside, my sister was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with metastisis to the cervical and axillary lymph nodes at the ripe old age of 30. She had just had a baby and the hormones triggered the cancer to develop and spread during her pregnancy. Her prognosis was 6 months to a year if she was lucky! She took part in a clinical trial as a last resort and she has now been cancer free for 8 years. Just something to consider if the vaccine is not an affordable option.
I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Unfortunately I am looking for financial assistance myself for a much needed MRI and possible steroid injections in my lumbar spine. Perhaps you could get help from a site called Wish Upon A Hero. Check it out and keep up your positive attitude!
