Another March has come and gone
the clouds are salmon streaming-
six is crisp as six and noon is so promising.
with a day to be foolish or a day of fools or a time to dupe and dash salt on fruit loops I wonder what the Easter Bunny is doing at this hour. I figure the guy's just closing deals with Rite Aid and Wal-Mart.
That brings me to my top five list of my Favorite Songs of in Awhile by Bands we've Played Alongside. Yessssir.
Okay, so, put on your propeller hats....and let's get primary!
5) We all Have Hooks for Hands-- "Hold on, C'mon"
...This group is like a Red Ryder BB Gun. An 8-ish-piece band that takes the rock ballad to a new level, these wonderful yelpers from South Dakota are alomost too lovely to be true. They played with us in La Grande, Oregon, in some foyer. The pastel carpeting gave it a cultish smack. They mysteriously left a black rubber boot behind and haven't fessed up yet. Beware.

4) Prick and The Burn-- "Delicious"
... this drum and guitar dialogue comes from a sinner's hobbyhorse. In concert, PATB is always there for a rager. Just ask them.

3) High Page Delay-- "Snow Day'
... The trio is as rainsoaked as the Hoh and honest as an Abe. Poetry finds soft ground here.

2) Kai Welch-- "The Bear Who Ate Me"
... Kai's ability to condense so many ideas into so few words is a skill seldom heard. His compositions match the cobblestone walk to work, the sloshing river to forge and hum of tomorrow's banter. Tunes like these go good with whiskey and jerky.

1) La Cha Cha-- "Papercuts"
Spokane, WA harbors this trinity. Seeing them live is like having the tooth fairy come while you are wet dreaming. She does your homework, irons your bells and leaves a benjamin for the pain.
