Hi Everyone,
I know some of you were concerned that I was dead. I was walking down the street in Nashville last week and I heard through a bullhorn, "ladies and gentlemen, Griffin has left the building." I yelled back, "no, I'm not. I'm right here!" "No, you've left the building," they guy on the bullhorn said. I couldn't see his face, but from the way it sounded coming out of his mouth and through the horn, I knew he had a smirk on his face. So, then we got in a shouting match, but since I couldn't see him, I just had to get in my car and drive away. Then I made a bunch of stickers that said, "I'm not dead," and I passed them out all over town so people could put them on their cars, and guitar cases and whatnot.
I guess the rumor started because my website, and facebook, and myspace had not been updated in some time, other than to post a few tour dates this August, and those weren't even up for awhile. But sometimes it's good to disappear for awhile, stop twittering, stop creating news to report, and just melt into the slipstream of your own dream.
Part of my absence has been because I've put this compilation of songs together. 42 and a half minutes with ol' Gballs, B sides and unreleased materials which comes out today! I've added some personal commentary to go along with all the tracks, so you can get a bit of an idea of where the songs came from. I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I had putting it together. While I'm talking to you, I'll tell you that I'm recording my record this week.
I really appreciate all of your support. I hope it hits you right in the heart.
- Griffin
