BAND MEMBERS WANTED

ABOUT YOU:
Do you like The Pixies?  The Vaselines, Interpol, Ultra Vivid Scene, Gramme, The Breeders, The Violent Femmes, early Ned's/PWEI/Stuffies, Polly Harvey, The Kills, dEUS?Can you sing and play guitar, keyboards, drums (or possibly some other instrument - we're reasonably open minded types)?

Are you a fairly relaxed person that enjoys being creative (in a musical sense)?

Then we want to hear from you!ABOUT US:

We are Tris and Gary, two experienced musicians who have played separately in gigging bands for the last 15 years.  Having started a new band and begun to write material, we are looking for like-minded individuals to join us in making music that we all enjoy.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Hold up!  You might not even like us!  Or you might not be what we are looking for.  As a first step, we suggest you have a listen to the rough demo's we have put here on our MySpace page.

If you vaguely like what you hear (and remember, once YOU are in the band these songs may be transformed into something MUCH better), then send us a message via our MySpace page telling us who you are, why you want to be in the band etc., preferrably with a weblink to examples of your musical talents.  If it sounds like you might be a good fit, we might even contact you inviting you to "jam" with us and if we don't hate each other we'll take it from there!

Many thanks for your time.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Tris and Gary Monkeysoup.

THE SMALL-PRINT

  • We are not a "covers band".  We don't spend hours trying to recreate other people's music.  We write our own songs.  We are looking for someone willing to be a part of this creative process.

  • We WILL be playing gigs in and around London.  You need to be prepared for the long rehearsals, travel costs and sitting around bored eating greasy snacks during tedious sound-checks that this involves.

  • This band might make us the next Arctic Monkeys, propelled to riches and superstardom from nothing.  It might.  But it probably won't.  Chances are we will make some really good music that only a small number of people ever hear.  Chances are that performing gigs will end up costing more than we ever get paid.  Chances are you will never get to hang out backstage with Madonna at Glastonbury.  If you don't think that you'll enjoy the experience too much to care about this stuff, then this probably isn't for
    you.
