Okay, look. I fully expect that some folks are going to get irritated with me on this although since I think I have six subscribers, I don't think anyone will read this anyway. But I am of the opinion that bulletins should be used sparingly, and not for random thoughts or whatever the hell a meme is. Many of us have hundreds or thousands of friends, and what happens when one single friend posts ten bulletins a day, is that the time it takes to scroll through all of everyone's bulletins to find what might really be of interest, isn't worth it, and other things come up and we forget, and then we miss our friends events and such and they say 'I posted a bulletin' and I say 'I'm sorry, Blah di Bloo and Whoo di Hah posted twenty bulletins each that day, I must have missed it.'

Thank you for your attention. I realize I could post a bulletin about this, but that seems wrong.

I stand with you in solidarity! I hate serial bulletins--so much so that I take it a step farther and delete the serial bulletin-er. Just because.

Thanks, Myfanwy! Yeah, I delete them too. Today I accidentally deleted a couple of people I didn't mean to delete along with the one I did. Oops.

I hear you on that, but once you get over 1000 friends, the bulletins no longer appear on the homepage. You have to click on a link to get to yours.

That's true, reposting surveys in bulletins is behavior only appropriate for those users still in high school.

i have a this and that about this. i rarely post bulletins. EVERY now and again (should it be every now and AGAIN?), i will repost a fun little surveyesque bulletin just because it's fun. if i should be in high school for that, sue me. but it's rare and i feel like i deserve it like a mental treat like frozen custard now and again or a maple cream from margie's candies.

however, mostly? i ignore all bulletins. so, if someone really wants you to come to an event, i wouldn't be sending you a bulletin. or even using myspace. maybe y'all use myspace regularly, but i mostly forget to even check this thing but once a week. so, i'd send a personal email, or (gasp!) an evite.

that being said, do you still have a blog? or should i be coming to this place for the standby bert action?

Murder me if I ever post a bulletin with a survey.

I get great joy from deleting MyFriends who've abused me. With their insipid bulletins. With their big glittery graphics in my comments section. With their self-pimping "Please review my romance novel." With their non-sensical cryptic bullshit... "Jeremy's Prophecy dot com," what? Go pollute somebody else's Space.

These are MyPeeves.

I heard kudos are good, and can be collected and saved for purchasing a go-kart from a big catalog. Here are two for you.

I'm sorry, but y'all take MySpace WAY too seriously.

everything you guys are complaining about is EXACTLY what the bulletin board is for. don't blame it on other people because they want to have FUN.

all you're doing is shaming people and making them feel like crap for it, and isn't that just really a form of bullying? if you're missing your friend's bulletins, isn't it partially their fault for not putting it in a blog or private message where you'd be sure to see it? that's why most industry people have a fan page and a private page. that might be your best bet.

yes, there ARE serial offenders (I too have missed events, but isn't that what the EVENT app is for?) no one is really in the right as far as bulletins go. wasn't Tom working on a feature where you could actually choose which friends you could see bulletins from? I think I would prefer that over any other new feature.

I understand and appreciate your position, I really do, but I don't necessarily agree with it. and that's what makes us who we are.

p.s. your cover was so intriguing, I just bought the book at amazon. then I saw you had other books, so I bought them too.

I stand by my original beef, but goodness gracious, Cricket Lee, all three books, you can come here and rant any old time! And post all the bulletins you like! Thanks!

I know this blog is old, but I couldn't agree more with it. I just ran across it while searching for a way to choose who I get bulletins from.
