Kimonos break-up without releasing year’s best recording
The Kimonos were a great rock band, and right at the end the group went into the studio to record an album that was finished, but never released. Titled (sound) (it) (out), the ten tracks capture the energy of a Kimonos show, while balancing out the vocal and instrumental mix that not a single live sound engineer ever got right. (sound) (it) (out) is easily the best made Houston indie record of 2004, and the number of people who have heard it could probably fit comfortably into a Dodge Neon. full article
