Greetings, Family members of Cannibals!
Engineer Alex here.
Today marks the one year passing of our good friend and drummer, Brett Zamrzla.  His loss meant the end of My Uncle is a Cannibal as a band, but their music shall live on!

I decided today would be swell to share with everyone my personal collection of recordings I have accumulated during my time with MUIAC.  There are four albums I have to share, all of them listenable, and showing different stages of MUIAC's development into what you heard on the album.

Get these while you can, this is the only time they will be available and might not be online forever!  They are mp3s in .zip files on sendspace, all you need to do for each is click the link, scroll to the bottom of the page and there will be a download link for the file.

LIVE AT CAFE SEMOLINO

I recorded this gig for the band with just my laptop, mbox and a pair of condensor mics that would get a lot of mileage with MUIAC.  The band is loose here, and it's fun to hear slower versions of the songs.

THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS

Some of you may have this, as the band sold a few copies at shows.  It is a live studio recording of the band when they had an auxilliary percussionist, Josh Conner.  The band also had some room to experiment.  It is from roughly the same time as cafe semilino.

DAY1

This is the "demo" of the album.  The band plays live in the studio through the 8 songs on the release, without vocals.  I used this to begin the framework for the sessions of the final album.

BRETT BOUNCE:

After I finished the album, Brett's mom asked me to do a mix of all the parts Brett recorded for the album.  It's a great look at Brett's talent and dedication to the songs.
