The music industry has changed dramatically since we last released an album, for better or for worse I'm not sure yet but how much would you pay to download our new album featuring 11 tracks these days?

Would you prefer to hear the album first and pay what you believed its worth rather than a set figure?

Ayup chaps,

I'll be getting the album off you in Nottingham next week. I know it'll be good. If I didn't know who you guys were I'd probably want to hear it first...

Bandcamp is a good move. There's also Soundcloud, and thesixtyone.com - there are probably more but theses are the ones I've started using of late.

Our friends Fine Before You Came released their last album as a free album on Mediafire, and it's been got a few thousand times now...and their shows are full of people who know the words, and who've become passionate about the songs...and although they've got the download they'll buy a cd, or vinyl, or t-shirt (all all three).

When I haven't heard a band before I'll trapse the internet for a while looking for ways to listen (Myspace is good for this, or the ones above) and if I can't find anything I'll download it, and if I like it I'll buy it. There are a lot of people out there who wouldn't buy it even if they lied it, but I think the biggest mistake the music industry is making is seeing every illegal download as a lost sale. Once you take into account the people who buy a physical copy, or never listen to the mp3 again, it's just not the case.

With the Crash of Rhinos and Emphemetry stuff we're doing free downloads. With my own stuff I might put a donate button in there somewhere so that, even if someone has no interest in physical media, they can still contribute to a fraction of a pint of ale or a replacement patchlead if they want to.

Looking forward to seing you chaps next week.
Play safe,

~biff~
