OMG!! so tonight i went to norwich to meet SUZI QUATRO!! well actually i got into norwich about 3 this afternoon when i raced to the forum to meet dan but also to wait for suzi as she was being interviewed on BBC radio norfolk. dan arrived at about 3:40 and we waited till 4:10. i said we'll wait till half 4 cuz then we know shes defineatley gone and used a different entrance but no sooner had i said that did suzi and "her people" come out!! haha! couldnt believe it, it was so wierd that she came out just as i said that!! and when i write "her people" dont get the wrong idea-she had her driver (who we will call big pink guy-bpg-cuz he had a pink shirt on) and her publicist (called tanya), thats it!!
suzi had her leather trousers on and a denim jacket with "blues brothers" sunglasses on! i wore ma leather jacket cuz you know, meeting suzi q without your leathers on is just AGAINST the law!! although i was boiling cuz i had ma boots, jeans and leathers on with ma hair down and it was like 25 degrees!! but we were like "hi suzi, we just listened to you on the radio and we're coming to see you at jarrolds tonight." and she walked towards us and was like "hey guys. cool thats great, well ive got to go now cuz i have another signing to get to, so see you soon!" and with that we went our separate ways.
and me and dan were like "cool"!! well he went a wee nuts as he screamed but i just didnt feel nervous at all. it was really wierd- i was completely neutral and i do love suzi so its not thast i werent bothered-cuz i was!!
anyway we millied around till half 5 when we went to jarrolds and started the line-yes thats right people i was first in the queue again!! we got talking to rachel, her son micheal and their friend karen. (rachel is how i am on lulu on suzi! been following her since 1973!!) anyway we got good friends with them and ended up spending the night with them!!
at 6:10 dan goes"was that suzi?" we're all like WHERE?? and sure enough walking down the street was the rock legend suzi q! and she was just walking down the street-nobody recognised her but me, dan, rachel, micheal and karen are all going nuts!! anyway she gets to us and was like "hey guys! see you in there!" and went in!
at 6:25 the door guy was like "right tickets please" and we shoved them to him and legged it inside!! i left mum and adam's tickets at the door, needless to say they werent used as they ended up not coming! so anyway us 5 LEGGED it up 3 flights of stairs! i mean legged it all the way none of us stopped cuz we dint want anyone over taking us!! i have never legged it so fast in aaaalllll ma life!! haha and we got in and were greeted by the staff with drinks. i got stitch cuz we were all trying to breathe, talk and laugh at the same time and man that iS NOT a good idea! anyway we occupied the 1st row on both sides and within time the hall filled up and the manger had brought suzi out (haha like some doll!! it werent like that, but you know what i mean!). we all clapped and the manager introduced her while suzi was mucking around with tanya and bpg behind her! the manger showed her how to use the mic. and suzi goes "haha that makes me laugh, YOU showing ME how to use a microphone!" and she explained that while she was talking she just wanted to make a funny face (actually done it-LOL!) cuz you sound like a teacher and thats just how i was at school-im such a devil im sorry!!"
she talked for about 20 mins about the book and giving a few exclusives-which i cant remember!! she then asked if there were any questions just as she said that the manager went to get another mic. and suzi said "what you gonna answer questions too?" and everyone just howled-she doubled up- and when the manager went into the audience and she was like " ohhh ok i get it! youre gonna give the microphone to people.ok!"haha, so anyway i mossied ma hand up and the manager shoved the mic. in ma face and i was like "ahh am i first? omg!" suzi smiled at me and i said "ok well 1stly suzi i just wanna say ive read the book and OMG-i love it! it flung me through so many emotions and so i think you should be really proud of what you've written." and she was like "ahhhhh thank-you!" then i carried on "ok so 1stly i wanna ask:you've already established that view yourself as 2 different people-little suzi from detroit and suzi q but if you could meet your 13 year old self now-what would you say to her?" and she said "ohhh what a sweet question! ohhhh youve brought a tear to my eye! (i apologised) ohh no no its not you i just imagined meeting my 13 year old self! ohhh youre sweet-and i would tell lil' suzi not to be so insecure and to accept everything and enjoy everything that she has. but well done that was a great question!"
she then spent time answering other peoples questions. there was alot of laughter and jokes you know cuz shes just remarkably funny and natural. she was asked 1 question and she said "ahh thats just reminded me of my favourite girl joke-do you mind if i tell it girls (we're all like NOOOOOO!!!) sorry men and if theres any kids you may want to cover their ears. why does a man never know when a woman has orgasmed properly?.....cuz he's never there!" well everyone has doubled up- i went bright pink!! she said " i told and told and told that joke for about a year when my german husband said "suzi, thats just not funny!""
she asked if there were anymore questions so of course i mossied up ma hand and she was like "you wanna ask another 1?" and i was like "is that ok?" suzi said it was......"so ive ordered ma copy of back to the drive from amazon BUT IT HAS NOT COME YET! but we'll mosy on over that (suzi laughs!) so instead i listen to the songs on your myspace and i JUST love duality. its ma favourite song and omg its on ma myspace page so that whenever you click on it it plays but anyway i digress!" she laughed and said "you digress? ive not heard that in ages-youre not a gemini as well are you? youre all over the place!" and i was like "no im a scorpio" and she made an "x" sign with her fingers and was like "ahhhhhh" and im like "noooooooo-ive said the worng thing!" and she said "no no no youre alright, scorpio is a nice sign!" (she winks) and i was like "thanks so what was i saying?" and the WHOLE place just fell about laughing-suzi i sdoubled up on the chair and i feel about 5mm big!!! i was like what a jerk!! haha!! "but anyway, ive been writing songs since i was about 8 and so i know the value of a story behind the song. i have an idea of what duality is about but i wanted to get your story behind it." she understood "well i shouldnt really tell you cuz the whole point of writing songs is for the listener to get their own ideas but as it you! ive always thought i think like a man with the emotions of a woman-not good! i have an imaginary line (indicates it) this side im brilliant, we'll have a ball but dont you cross!!" and she just explained it was about balance, being a gemini and the 2 sides to a person, "my personality is very munch like the british weather: you dont like it? stick around, it'll change!!" triple love it!!
then she announced she needed a wee before starting the signing and i was like urgh thanks for that suzi!!
before long it was my turn for ma book to be signed and suzi said "they were great questions you asked, well done." i said " i tried to think of good questions for you, can you put to ashleigh please?" and she said "oh sure- youre on myspace?!" and i  was like "shut up OMG! you know my myspace page! she said "im on there all the time!". she signed ma cd for ma auntie stef and the dan went to take our picture but it didnt work so i had to wait till the end of the queue when i then asked suzi if i could have another go? "oh sure!" i asked bpg to take it as he had spent all night taking other peoples pics. he was very much one of those "oh yeah yeah, give it to me. oh yeah now we're getting it, yeah yeah cool!" and i said "cuz youre good!" he also said i asked good questions and i turned to suzi and said "i tried to think of good original questions for to answer. thought-provoking and you know i love originality2 she said "there nothing wrong with originality!". bpg took the pic and as a back up karen and rachel also did-thank you btw!!
we then followed suzi out of the building and down the street-unintentionally btw we just all happened to be going the same direction! we must have said goodbye to suzi about 6 times! just as her and bpg pulled away mum rang me:"weve just parked the car!" DAMN IT!!!! awww bless ma mum she JUST missed meeting her childhood hero!! i felt guilty that now they were just coming out to norwich to pick me up!! so i brought them a mcdonalds!!
it was a brilliant noght and not once did i feel nervous, scared and nor did i blaa!! which is strange- the 1st 5 times io met lulu all i done was blaa but with suzi.....shes just soooooo down to earth and exudes peace and calmness. i was at such peace in her presence knowing that although this was the rock legend suzi quatro it just felt that this was the most natural thing in the world and an everyday occurance!! haha it was brill and im really glad i made the journey! thank you to suzi for coming to norwich and thanks to dan, rachel, karen and micheal. you all made it a great day and evening for me!! one i will never forget!!
