 A TOUCH OF HYSTERIA

Like many of the anarchist scene bands of the 1980's "A Touch Of Hysteria" had something different and truly special to say to music that was being created at the time, and more and more the historic demo is listened to it becomes a true and honest statement, reflection and looking glass to the scene and the true passion of what the anarchist punk scene was entirely about, confident, different and again ground breaking punk sounds....  so its great to see them here , please add them to yout freinds,(colcreamcrop)

In February 1982, rising from one of the most picturesque places in the Lake District, Ambleside, A Touch of Hysteria were born. Their musical talents way above that of the three-chord punk thrashers of the other Cumbrian bands. Their demo, A Touch of Hysteria, was released in 1983.

The original line up was Paul Creighton (The Pilgrim, A.K.A. Lager) Vocals, Francis Acland, Lead guitar and vocals, Al Muir, Bass and Chris Acland(Henry Hysteria, A.K.A. Tiffer), drums. Chris went on to play for Lush and sadly took his own life in 1996.

In June 2005 A Touch Of Hysteria's 'The Rulers' was included on an anarcho punk compiliation Anti-state: Anarcho punk volume 2 which also includes Subhumans, Cumbawamba, The Mob, Blyth Power, Poison Girls and Flux of Pink Indians.

A Touch Of Hysteria got back together in 2006 for a tribute to Chris, 10 years after his death for a one off show at Kendel Brewery Arts Centre with former Les Turds members standing in and another of Chris's old bands, Hardskin also on the bill.

In February 2008, 26 years after their creation, still in Ambleside ATOH re-formed with Kerry (Drums), Stan (Guitar) Mark (Bass) and still with The Pilgrim on Vocals.

ALTERNATIVE

www.myspace.com/alternativemanure

Alternative started in the early 80s in Dunfermline Fife Scotland. Brought together out of frustration and common angered beliefs. They wanted to play their part fighting against the system and its so called Democracy, Theocracy and its Monarchy. They originally rented a small venue to use as a practice pad for the band. This was soon to become known as THE PAD and soon became a small Autonomy Centre. It was a basic Anarcho centre that would facilitate other bands in the area to practice and as a meeting place for like-minded individuals. It was used to create fanzines like Lipstick on your collar and many articles and posters. Although a small outbuilding, gigs took place but not with a capacity crowd it was the roots for better things to come. Alternative played with other local bands such as The Actives, Mutual Fear, The Dissidents, Societys Victim, UK Anarchists, Direct Action, Total Output and Why? Most of these bands all had similar ideas and views that were to see the rise of the Anarcho years of the early 1980s. Alternative played many gigs over the years in Scotland and England. They were soon dubbed the Scottish Crass in an interview.
