I've never been too sure how you fill out these blog things, but I always enjoy reading other bands blogs so thought I'd have a go..... you'd be forgiven for falling asleep by the third line... its fine, happens all the time.

Well Treasure Tones have been busy over the past few weeks recording 4 tracks at QTON Studios in Kensal Rise. It was an amazing experience and loads of fun, but a lot of hard work as there is always so much to get done when recording... I am always amazed at just how in depth the recording process is...
Its a really exciting time now, as all the parts are recorded and now its down to the mixing stage, where our Engineer Costis and our  Producer Monty get to sprinkle the magic on top for the finished product.

Monty is a rare breed - in that he is a vocal producer as well as a producer, and so the wealth of knowledge and advice he brings to the table when recording vocals are a massive learning experience, and he manages to deal with people with temperance and a great awareness of how to gain the best from the individual.....Singing is such a massive passion of mine, and whilst i found the process really challenging, as Monty's way allows you to push yourself to your own limits creatively and technically, I have come away feeling like I have learned something really valuable and ideas of what to work on now to make things even more exciting - and Costis is THE MOST thorough engineer I have ever worked with, hearing such subtle differences in frequencies and offering suggestions i'd never even have thought of, but things that will make the record that extra bit special. So a massive shout to QTON records and Charlotte there too for her amazing organisation skills and coolness...

So anyway, we had tonnes of fun, Ally as expected, laid down seriously awesome guitar licks with an ease that still makes me really jealous! especially as he'd only recently had his appendix evicted! So keep your ears peeled for a choice blues solo and a slightly rockier one that had Monty doing some pretty amazing air guitar moves in the control room (caught on camera - watch this space).

There is TONNES of footage, soon to be edited into a wee piece to document our muddle of mayhem and Ally was on hand with his camera to catch some shots which i'll put up here as soon as.

I can honestly say, that I've never seen so many doritos and houmous consumed in that time, and found it infiniately interesting that Greek frogs go "rekekekesquatsquat" (seriously), I learned that you seriously cannot sing after eating a massive batch of falafels and chilli's, without wanting to puke. I can see now that playing a tambourine in time is hardcore (try it), I picked up a rather awesome party trick and penguin joke from the rockerlaine who sucked us all in on his knot in a hair joke!. I think I officially hold the record for the person who can accidenatlly headbutt the microphone and put it off angle soooooooo many times (my spatial awareness leaves a lot to be desired)...

The recording process had a rather fun interruption of our gig at The Bull & Gate on the 31st. As always it was a pleasure. The pics and videos that everyone took and that people sent to us or put up on Myspace (Alison, Wendy, Mardagg) you all rock and thanks for taking the time - we're clocking up a right collection on YouTube...Thanks everyone for coming. We're playing at The Underworld in Camden on the 12th November, although i'm sure we'll throw a few more in before then....

Well my pretties, I believe I have rabbited on enough, and apologies for my no doubt bloody awful spelling...

Is "vrekekeks quaks quaks" actually. Is that why you saying you have a bad spelling? You should practice your Greek froggies more often. Thanks for THE MOST
