¢ So. I walk into a particular fast-food restaurant called Subway. I say, 'Hey! All I want is a five dollar foot long cold cut combo. I'd like lettuce, tomatoes, and olives with some mayo.' I got my sandwich, socialized with the workers and just threw out that I needed a job, maybe me and my friend Donald would get lucky and we'd get hire together. 'You wanna work here?' the nearest worker asked. 'Yeah, I like sandwiches, so why not?'

£ Donald and I were both hired on the spot last night at closing time, and today at 6:00 will be my first ever shift going to a real job. It's gonna be interesting. :) "Minimum wage? That sounds like a lot!"

¥ College can be just like the movies if you live by the classics. Donald, Jeremy, Jesse, and I walked across the street to our local laundromat with the plans to strip down the clothes we were wearing down to our underwear, and wash said clothes. Whilst waiting in our undies, we'd socialize and lounge until our clothes were clean. This plan was thwarted by the unreasonable amount of children located in this public laundromat. Who would have thought adults like to bring their children to wash clothes?

€ I saw 'Where the Wild Things Are' on Friday night, October 16th. I'm no movie critique. In fact, I have a very closed mind about movies and films in general. I hardly ever see an advertisement for a film and get really excited about the chance at seeing it. But the moment I saw the trailer for 'Wild Things,' I INSTANTLY got excited. Since July I've been excited to see this, and I'm so glad I got to see it opening night. It was spectacular. I had no doubt I'd be disappointed. I really didn't expect it to be a children's movie, but I didn't expect it to be as directed at my demographic as it was, which almost caught me by surprise. The storyline and characters deal with so many emotions and problems that I feel myself going through almost everyday, and the film deals with it all in such and adult way that anyone can see this is more than a mere adaptation of a classic book. I'd gladly pay to go see it again, and I believe that says how I feel about everyone going to see it.

¤ I didn't get cast in 'The Crucible.' Actually, I'm one of 3 students at my college here mainly on an acting scholarship that didn't get cast. But it's alright, I have more time to study! And that's what I'm really here to do, right?

§ I'm here at school with so many people, but I can't help but feel so very lonely. My life at home fell apart eight months ago. My dad lives three and a half hours away. And the one and only girl I want to be with lives on the other side of the country. I guess this is why I got a job, eh? Maybe a Christmas trip to Boston isn't really as elusive as it feels. But I guess that's really up to me isn't it?

¶ In a class where we were given 'free time,' I found myself writing in a fifty cent yellow spiral. And I wrote and wrote and wrote, until I had 3 pages front and back filled with nonsense that spilled from my mind through my hand through ink to the page. And I found that I was satisfied with calling myself an artist for the first time in months. I hope one day I can stay true to silly promises made by a high schooler, and maybe show these pieces of artwork to some folks someday. Someday, maybe my friend.

♥ So I send you this message in code. Under ground, over mountains, through forests and deserts and cities.

Erik, you're so awesome. Why did you go so far away when I finally made it back to the area?

I'm still here! I'm in Carthage. I'm stuck with no vehicle or money (yet), but I'm here! Haha.
