your career, we offer contribution space on both of our platforms.
We take on contributions from writers for articles/interviews/reviewphoto shoots from models/togs, as well as news & news, range/line/shop info direct from companies, designers, & shop owners.
Contributing to our magazineEach issue is usually planned out a few months in advance, to ensure
that we get a plentiful, varied amount of content in each edition.
With each edition we look to take on contributions for the following areas:
Articles - from alternative styles, club nights (with something
a little more unusual such as performers), diy tips or projects, events
& entertaining & intriguing stories about labels (such as the
lippy addicts article we ran in issue 2).
Spaces are available now for issue 14 (our Winter edition), drop us a line now if your interested.
Company/designer/shop features - We now feature a stealthy mix
of both UK & international talent in each edition. With our
subscribers based in the UK, Denmark, Canada, Australia, & the U.S;
we have interest of all sorts to both UK & international talent.
We pride ourselves on covering alternative talent of all sorts; after
all alternative is specifially anything different from the 'norm'. We
like to cover a broad mixture of talent from gothic couture, burlesque
attire, kawaii, vintage, rockabilly, quirky t-shirts, diy, emo/scene,
punk, fetish, & anything in between!; as well as gorgeous
accessories, jewellery, & footwear.
Space is usually limited for features but do get in touch if you run an alternative fashion company, shop or site.
So what do magazine contributors get? - All contributors who submit printed articles/interviews/company features will recieve full creditation on their article & a free
copy when the issue is out & digital tear sheet if you wish.
Deadlines for our next issue for proposals:1st February 2010.
Contributing to altfashion.co.ukFor the site we do our content a little differently, we cover the
following features on our site which we gladly accept contributions for
year round.
City features - As this section has now merged with our articles; you'll find our city features under the 'articles' tab.
Here we feature a UK city & it's range of alternative shops, &
sites of interest. Whether your town or city has a handful of alt
friendly shops, & clubs we're interested in an article on it!
We tend to run our city features alongside gallery images of the city too; but even a handful of images will fit in nicely.
Reviews - We review companies, designers, products (accessories, cosmetics, & jewellery mainly), & books. These are constantly updated & added so if you'd like a review get in touch.
Articles - Here we focus mainly on alternative styles, a huge
list is on the site but if you see a genre we've missed or you'd like
to update then get writing on it!
But we're also interested in articles of alternative interest; if you
have an idea get in touch & we'll see if it fits with the theme of
our site.
So to contribute online; You can comment here or message us as well as emailing info[at]
altfashion.co.ukNot to forget that we also are regularly after listings for our
directory site; whether it's your local alt shop, or you run a site,
get in touch to be listed.
We update the directory once a month, so we take on listings year round & update your link/shop on our nearest update.
