[Man, it's been *months* since I've posted a blog, and now I feel I'll probably
knock out two or three in a week.]It’s been a busy but fulfilling Summer.
I’d spent the Spring setting up several performance dates for the band,
both in town and out. My goal was, that even if we were playing locally,
we would include folks from out-of-town on the bill---trying to increase our
ever-expanding, Evil Web o’ Pals state-wide. I think we were successful.
We played in Merced, Los Angeles and Sacramento and had good experiences
at all stops. We also played a couple of local shows, playing host to Griddle from
San Francisco and The Panduhs from Livingston (near Modesto).
Our Sacramento trip involved a video shoot of some live performances and interviews.
You can check out the whole web episode at www.livefromsoulstavern.com .
Hopefully all this activity will lead to more chances for us to get more bookings
around the state and to make some new friends with bands we wish to show off
here in Central Cal..
Now, with summer drawing to an end, and me not being an artist that can
pay for rent, food and gas with their art, I’m back to
my teaching gig, which I enjoy and all, but I find myself rather manically
diving into the studio right after the last bell. It’s some mix between
a self-identity thing, and “Dang, we’ve been working on this new
CD for a longggg time now; time to get it done!”.
Stay tuned for more show, and more music releases.
Plus: save Saturday, Oct.3rd for Fresno’s 2nd annual FUSE music festival!
