Dickie ,  In your time of crisis , you are not alone. I'm sort of at a loss for words , except that you're on my mind ,now , and many , many Brothers and Sisters send their hope and their prayers and their strength out to you , right now , just as I do. You can and will , I believe , win this fight.

I spoke to Dickie just before his birthday (which is the 12th) on Sept. 10th for an hour and a half, he sounded upbeat but I could tell he wasn't right. He told me that he would only fight so much. I'm still working on his new bass and he's been excited to see it. I came home last night (Sunday) to a message from his friend Jens (who is working on Dickie's biography) that Dickie wanted me to know how he was and where he was. I am saddened beyond belief that I will never see my best friend again. He's in another country and I can't go see him easily. It really hurts. I've only known him since '06, but I felt like Dickie was my best friend. I built him his first ever custom designed bass and he invited me to a week at his house so I could bring it to him. He introduced me to his friends and we jammed, and luckily I got one of the songs on video, which I have on youtube. I'll never forget the time we had. I'm glad I took a lot of pictures and shot video. I want everyone to know what a great man Dickie Peterson is and will always be. I'll always appreciate him thanking me in the commentary on the new dvd and talking proudly about my work to people. He's the only Rock Star that gave back to me.
Please keep him in your thoughts.

We will keep Dickie in our prayers and in our hearts. You guys have been such a positive force in our lives since the 60's. We were the first band in orlando Florida to have six stacks of Marshall amps and a Rogers double bass drum set in 1968, not bad for for three 16 year old kids. Please give Him our love and prayers and thanks for rockin the world.

To those who may not have heard, our dear brother Dickie Peterson has passed away from what I understand was liver cancer or complication there of. He left us 10-12-09 in Germany at at 5:00am.

Dickie will be greatly missed by many. He told me that he didn't have "fans" he had "friends" and I know he valued each and every one of them. From the beginning Dickie chose his own path through this journey we call life paving the way for those who dared to follow. Dickie was not just a pioneer in Rock & Roll music but also a LEADER that will continue to guide musicians and music lovers for ever.

I know he wouldn't want us to be sad and I know he's up there turning the Angel's harps up to "11"! Blow the Golden Gates off the joint Dickie!

Much love.....
