This weekend, i was in the studio recording my 2nd album 'Tales from the Weeping Willow'....I'm not sure quite how or why it happend, but i found myself in the lucky situation of having the extaordinarily talented Mr Paul Heaton come on down to record a song he wrote specifically for my album - its a fantastic track called 'The Ferryboat Inn'.....
We had real fun in the studio & it was lovley to spend a day with Paul who was a total gem;funny, engaging, & full of interesting stories...he was a pleasure to be around & although he commented that he had hardly sang a note in the last year, when he poured his vocal in to the microphone he sounded like an utter angel (- he has such a unique & instantly recognisable voice) and more importantly, he made a point of doing all the washing up before he left the studio (now that is a rare breed of man & one after my own heart)....
it was lovley to hear that voice -so many of us have grown up with- singing live in a wee studio -Im now dying to get back to the stiudio to carry on where we left off, but unfortunely it will be a few weeks before i can.... so this story is 'to be continued'...........
