Day 8: Montaigu, Ainu Festival
This was
the day with the longest drive on paper, 6.5 hours. It turned out to feel not
as long as some former drives we had on this tour so that was nice. Somehow the
drive didn’t feel that long and we arrived at the venue an hour in advance of
schedule.
This show
was added to the tour only 2 days before we left and it showed. We were not on
the posters or flyers so I guess nobody even knew we were playing this fest. It was a 2 days festival in a nice venue but the crowd wasn’t into our
kind of hardcore. Other bands that were on the bill played all kinds of music
like stoner rock, heavy stoner jazz core, instrumental groove core whatever….
Not our cup of tea sort to speak. But at
least we got some nice food and some drinks and even a small amount of change.
We had to
leave early to get to our sleeping place, this meant that we had to miss This
Routine Is Hell which kind of sucked. But we had a nice hangout together and we
will play together on 23rd of may. So we
drove off to our stay for the night in Nantes. We slept in the apartment of a
friend from the band, Hervé. We got in our sleeping bags early to get some nice
rest before our last show tomorrow in Le Havre.
Day 9: Le Havre
So last day
of the tour! Everyone is getting a
little bit tired but we are all siked to play the last show! Our friends of
New Pokerface told us that Le Havre was going to be a big party! So it was!
The promoter Bertrand told us that after the show we had to come to a birthday
party otherwise we would be the only Dutch band that didn't do so! So after the first two bands
played their set which both rocked it was our turn! We probably played
better shows during this tour but we had a lot of fun on stage! After loading all our stuff in the van it was time to go to the afterparty! We drove
in a small car through the city of Le Havre thinking this is going to be our
last car ride ever! Somehow we got to the party in one piece. The party was at
the house of Bouboul, a nice veteran punkrocker, and it was also his birthday! We had a great time and saw some weird shit at
the party! Goodtimes… The car ride back
to Bertrand was even more scary then the ride to the party, but again we arrived in
one piece!
Day 10: Home
After a
really short night and with kind of a hangover we drove back home! This tour
has been more than great and beyond our expectations! We would like to thank
everyone that came to the shows, checked us out, sang along, piled on and
stage dived! Also thanks to all the other bands that played with us this tour! A
special thanks to every person that helped us out with promoting the
shows, giving us food and drinks and giving us a place to sleep! We love u all!
Thanks a
lot and see you all soon!
