Honestly I can't listen to any covers of Prince. The thought disgusts me. Nothing will sound good to me but Prince's voice. Now I don't mind a little mixing of P's songs but hearing another person singing HIS SONGS is to me a big mistake. I want no parts in it. I wash my hands clean of it. Let the purple one's music be what it is...HIS MUSIC. Die hard purple friend signing off. lol I always wanted to say that.

 

I usually don't mind covers of his songs. I've liked a few.. disliked most. But If someone else likes them... more power to em.
 

Since I apparently have the audience I figured couldn't resist taking a peak and doing something asinine like copying from my blog and posting it to the thread at the center of current drama.

I mean... you post more than once bitching about the nature of my post... then not only do you continue to blatantly make post which goes against the shit you spew... you must be sure you will get your last words in.

Truth is... I could have made this blog private like some of my other ones... but i wanted you to really know with out a question or doubt what I thought of you.

My one regret is that I let myself get baited into an argument. I should know better. Because before I knew it... I found myself defending statements I never made or implied. On any other forum a decent moderator would have refrained from taking sides and simply helped calm the situation. A great moderator would have approached the people who actually cast the first and second stones. But not these mods. True to form they attack like a pack of wolves. They never care who started it... or what was actually said... they just look for openings to attack. The only thing which made this situation worse than in the past... was that I had to defend myself vs. statements I never made, Some of them have a problem reading more than three sentences... so they never read what I actually said... only the replies to false and misleading comments by people like the crack head.

But its cool. I continue to like some of the mods at Housequake because the discussions I've had in threads with them have been insightful. But the others...'ugh'. I've tried to play nice with a few of these guys since the last incident by giving positive feed back to threads they started or posted to and trying to let things rest in the past. But.... I see now... faiirplay and what is just is lost on these individuals. They don't care who is wrong or right... they just stick together with thier pack of ass kissers and attack any one who dares speak up for themselves. They have a vendetta and that's cool. I won't drop my shit in thier house... but if they wish to drag it in from my yard like silly bitches (hello Parade).... I'll just let them.
 

I try not to spend too much time in threads with suing as the main topic. They make me roll my eyes...so I haven't read too far into it. I generally think that if someone is truly being sued then they were likely caught doing something they shouldn't have, and we don't have nor ever will have the full scope of details on what truly happened. Right or wrong...Prince will never put out an explenation, so all we have to go on is what some person on line is saying. I thought you made some excellent points. Unfortunately...the more a person has to contribute on those sites the more it feels like throwing oneself to the wolves...not much can be done for the stupidity of the masses...

As far as the covers are concerned...I haven't heard these particular covers, now I don't want to.
Some bands do a wonderful job covering Prince, and some bands should NEVER, EVER go there!
