Category: MySpace

I am not sure where to post this; but, I am going to post it in the MySpace section just for the heck of it because it happened on MySpace.

Someone went to my public profile and requested that we be friends. Since her profile didn't invove profanity, body parts and that kind of nonsense, I approved it.

Now I will admit that being friends with someone on MySpace doesn't mean all that much to me.  I developed a  profile here  mostly out of curiosity because MySpace was what everyone was talking about at the time; but, I don't find it that interesting and do not log in for weeks on end.

I use real e-mail to keep in touch with my real friends; and, there are places elsewhere on the web that I find more informative, with better conversation and even more fun.

I certainly have better things to do than be sending bulletins to people on MySpace.  I never send them. My personal religious beliefs are barely mentioned on my profile or on my blog which no one has to read.  In  other words, I am not forcing my beliefs on anyone or even prostelitizing.

But it would appear that this person finally got around to really looking at my profile and sent me a message "So sorry.  Jesus is my Lord.  I cannot communicate with an unbeliever." Then she deleted me as a friend I guess.

The deleting me as a friend is fine.  I don't really need her as "friend," but I do have to say this sort of thing is the reason why so many of us consider religious people, mostly Christians in the United States, to be ignorant and bigoted and is a good part of why we oppose the increasing incursion of religion into the public and private life of this country.
