Back from our November tour in Germany and Austria with Blood Red Shoes. Great nights, great crowds, great welcome! We took a few days to “come down to earth”, things were so intense, people had never been so enthusiastic about our music! And about our shout contest, too! The city that shouts the longest and the loudest will be known very soon ... You can already have your idea about this crucial question by following this link: http://www.youtube.com/user/band1984TV. We've put all the videos online and our last show of the year in St Gallen/Switzerland ended this funny contest very well.
There are a lot of “souvenirs” to talk about. Lots of pictures, especially during our day off in Berlin when we had a photoshoot all day long : Clockwork orange's remake under a bridge, Bruno playing the bum, Thomas and i (Etienne) beating him ; taking pictures with the policemen ; charming a wooden full-size toy of Pinocchio ; drinking some cocktails in a David Lynch's atmosphere bar ; being desperate not to be accepted in the 3 fitness centers we tried: incomprehensible when you see our athletic bodies ! ; etc ...
We lived so many important moments this year, we'd just like to thank the people who enabled this evolution fot the band. First, you, people who came to the gigs and gave us a warm welcome all the time! A special thought to the german people that came to Switzerland to see us playing. Then, cheers of course to our sound engineer Jérôme, the coolest guy in the world; to Hubert, the madest man in the world, who developed a labyrinthine video programm and Philippe who fiddles with pictures like noone during our set ! A man working for Tide tv came after the show in Hamburg and said “You sound like Joy Division with Pink Floyd's black and white pictures behind you !” Now we know what to say when we're asked to describe our music : pink floyd's joy division. People from Weekender Records label also do a great job, thanks to Justin, Desi, Anni, Ben and all the crew for their welcome in the Weekender zebra-wallpainted office! And of course, Blood Red Shoes, ... Thanks to them, we played in so many places, so many great venues in different countries! And since April and our first tour with them in UK, we're really good friends. We love them, their music, the way they live it and understand it. They see in their increasing success the opportunity to promote bands they like, to share always more with people. It's all about sharing and spontaneity, music has to be alive and Blood Red Shoes illustrate this idea perfectly. We miss them a lot.
So now it's “winter break” in the Christmas and mulled wine's city of Strasbourg. But we won't be lazy. All December will be devoted to writing and playing new stuff. We'll also record a cover of a 80's song of our choice for the Rewind project of Buffetlibre in UK. Tours are planned for early 2009, but not confirmed for the moment.
All the best for this cold winter and don't forget to rock !
