The Zoopraxiscope

One of the earliest motion picture devices was called the Zoopraxiscope (pronounced zoh-uh-prak-suh-skohp), invented by Eadweard Muybridge in 1879. By inserting a disk and turning the wheel, one could watch a scene in motion.
