Current mood:  angry

It was bad enough when I was a teenager and I was made to feel unwelcome in the church where I grew up, and then to hear years later that they finally ran one of my best friends out. And now after I finally move back and with hopes that things have changed, I see that they are worse, now they are using scare tactics and lies to try and force my daughter through peer pressure to go to church.

First of all, I have been training my daughters to NOT give in to peer pressure and they know all about drugs and alcohol, but now I am having to teach them that 'Religious Zealots' use peer pressure also and that even though being a Christian is a ok for them, these Religious people are NOT to be trusted.

And here I always worried it would be the friends pushing drugs and sex on them that I would have to worry about the most, but of course leave it to the 'Religions' to become even more nasty than that.

Religion is man made and will always be corrupt, and no matter how many times you go to church, that will not get you into heaven.

Is it any wonder I have finally become anti social and can no longer trust anyone?

Hey - I know how you feel, I used to get the cold shoulder and judged. But these days I can find a place where I fit in or just make my own. Just be careful. I try not to judge Jesus, who is loving and accepting, by the actions of human beings who make mistakes like I do and who are not always so nice. I want to make sure I am not being like the people that have caused me pain. I always just chalk it up to free will. Not everyone has to do it my way, I do not have to hang around with people (even family) that cause me pain or discomfort.

to me that would be an easy issue, find a new church. if it doesn't click with you and the girls than find one that does.
