Dolly Parton is the shit! I saw her last night at Radio City Music Hall (first time there, very impressive). She played most everything I wanted to hear - plus a very awkward retrospective of classic hits from the 50's, 60's and 70's that left you asking yourself, "What's going on?" The only diddy she didn't play was "Travelin Thru," but nobodies perfect.

In other news, tomorrow I'm running the Brooklyn Half-Marathon. I did it last year too, this time I'm not quite as nervous (having run a Marathon now, anything less doesn't seem so daunting). It goes from Coney Island to Prospect Park. Not the prettiest run in the world, but it celebrates Brooklyn, my borough, and one must represent. Holla!

I read an article yesterday about a Muslim tradition in India where you throw a child over the top of a tall building. They say it makes their children stronger.
Coincidentally, my father did something similar. He pushed me off the side of a boat when I was 6. Instead of swimming to the top I just sank and sank. A minute later, and a tiny resuscitation, I was back! "Why didn't you swim to the top," my dad asked, panting for breath after rescuing me. "I don't know how to swim," I replied, smiling.
Oh, those were the days!
