My Top Pizza Places - Massachusetts
by JM
1. Galleria Umberto - Hanover Street, North End - Boston
only open for lunch and until the pizza runs out, grandma style, only cheese, they have amazing calzones, arancinis and panzarottis. the best. lines out the door everyday.
2. Bianchi's - Revere Beach

3. Santarpio's - East Boston
right next to the airport

4. The Brown Jug - Chelsea, MA

5. Pinocchios - Harvard Square
- sicilian square slices is where its at
6. Haymarket Pizza - corner or Marshall St. & Hanover at the produce market.
old school scuzzhole, amazing pizzas, used to have pepperoni cut off the stick so it curled up and got all crisp, that was before the highway came down, still really good.

Bah! I miss the pizza I got to eat when I was in the U.S.

The pizza in England is a far sadder beast.

hi john, this is mo, ron's friend from saratoga springs. the BEST sicilian restaurant EVER is in carroll gardens, brooklyn, and it's called ferdinando's focacceria:

(you can see a picture of it here: http://www.zagat.com/verticals/PropertyDetails.aspx?VID=8&R=51049)

they've got fried chickpea sandwiches (get the "special" one --it's got ricotta on it), pasta with sardines, squid in ink, scungilli, etc. and tripe, if you eat that kinda stuff. but anyway, it's a tiny little place, over 100 years old, and it's only open friday and saturday nights (or every day for lunch), and they close by 9pm sharp. next time you play brooklyn you GOTTA try it.
