Current mood: romantic
Having written my all time most successful blog whilst drunk a few weeks ago I have been avoiding writing my next blog until I am once again at my most humourous or at least most opinionated. However, I am taking the risk and I am going to write this on a sunny day in London having only drunk water today.
We are nearing the end of summer festival season. I can't believe how it has flown. In fact we have barely had any time off since we recorded the album in January and here we are: pinch, punch first day of the month... September!
I have finally managed to get my writing hat back on after being so heavily involved in gigs, interviews and the business side of the band for the last few months, ideas have been flowing once again and I am excited about where we are going to take our new recordings.
Meanwhile we have put up a cover of Tusk by Fleetwood Mac on the myspace player, we have been playing it all summer since we had a vote on 6 music to pick the cover that we should play at Glasto, and since then it has not left our set, it is the most fun to play live... especially as I don't play an instrument on the song (well finger cymbals if they count) so I get to whirl around the stage clapping and dancing like a fool. The recording on myspace is a live version from Green Man.. (which was super fun by the way).
Other riotous news: Dan has had yet another holiday and is by far the most tanned in the band I have celebrated my birthday and feel older and not wiser Sophie has been doing a lot of swing dancing Edd is moving house Caspar is going to become a Tai Chi guru Alex is now teaching trumpet at Uni
Other Festival news: At Green Man festival we all dressed in green and wore green masks (some tried harder than others...) Solfest was the windiest festival yet, Edd nearly fell over with his bass and my dress flew up in the air. Climate Camp had the best Yadada's of the summer so far, which included some Cossack Dancing.
Perhaps I should stick to drunken rambles...
We will be heading on tour again in the autumn (details to follow, but this will be no ordinary tour).
Much love,
Tamara x
PS look out for our video for O Those Kids on Topshop TV and Heathrow Airport TV. And if you know Fleetwood Mac ask them if we can support them on tour... you never know!
