Category: Life
I just bit my lip while eating a bagel.  And it hurt.  A lot.  A WHOLE lot.

So much that I stood there for about a minute, cursing myself on how stupid I must be... I mean, come ON... HOW many times have I chewed food?  Haven't I mastered chewing yet???

After I ran out of things to call myself, I resumed the bagel eating.  And you know what?  I DID IT AGAIN!!!!

MAN ALIVE!

Has this happened to anyone else?  I rarely bite my lip while eating (guess today was a fluke), but when I do, a second bite usually follows.  I can't explain it, nor can I find the answer to this on the web.  In the search field, I typed in "Why do we bite our lips while eating," and "Biting lips while eating" and the only thing worth mentioning that popped up was this question about a girl biting some guy's lip while kissing.  It's a pretty funny read if you're bored... and judging by the excellent content of THIS blog, you're probably bored.

I'm serious, though... has anyone else ever done the double-lip-bite while eating?  And if you have, do you know the answer to why this phenomenon occurs?  Like I said, I should be a frikkin' Jedi at chewing now.  Why would I mess THAT up?  It's like messing up while blinking.

And now, simply because I don't know how else to end this tragedy of a post, here is a picture that made me laugh like a boy like Santa Claus on Prozac at Disneyland... getting laid...

The layout of this blog is a good indication that I haven't posted here lately... the blog editor SUCKS.  What the heck is up with the different font styles and sizes???  I tried to "select all" and make them all the same size, but as you can see, my efforts were unsuccessful.  And I'm too lazy this morning to figure this out.

Why can't people leave well enough alone?  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  That should be MySpace's mantra.

Be good.

I bite the inside of my cheek because something is swollen inside the walls of my mouth.  I'm pretty sure the reason I bite it the second time is the same as the first, and once I've bitten it one time it usually swells up more so it's really hard to avoid it after that.

Is that picture what they put on squat toilets now in asia?

Man, I *just* noticed the hair on the woman's picture!  Is that implying there is some kind of massive wind blowing down below?  What' s up with that?!

You ain't right, Swap...

Personally, I have huge Aerosmith/Tyler family lips.

Not only on the outside of my face but the inside of my mouth. I am thinking I swam up outta the ocean at one point in HIStory.

Speaking of points, the point is, I have never bitten the insides of my mouth or lip.

Maybe your teeth grew overnight, perhaps a little mis-alignment? Could be your jaw has become unhinged or lightly loosened.

I'd really be concerned and worry about this until the root cause is discerned.  It may harm your key-key-keyboard abilities. A stutter on the staccato is not always appreciated but it may rock.

About the ladies hair, yep, that's strange.
The bald guys have their own stalls?

Your pal.

Thanks!  I needed this really bad today!!  Those restroom doors are just "messed up!"
And what's up with the see thru doors at the top?

I have no explanation on the biting, but same thing happens to me from time to time...

That stall pic is hysterical!! Yeah, it looks like there is a fierce wind blowing in the female stall!

I periodically bite my lip... and then inevitably, I bite it again at LEAST one more time in the same meal... usually more. I know that those subsequent bites are because the lip swells after the first bite, and then it "gets in the way." As far as the FIRST bite ...spastic jaw? ...not concentrating? ...nervous or excited about something? I never kept a journal about it, so I never figured it out.

I knew a woman who traveled to Japan and was stymied by the bathrooms. She did not know that she was supposed to squat, so she peed standing up... and there was a lot of splattering going on. By the end of the day her shoes stunk. A picture like that on the stall would have been very helpful in her case!

(.i aint tell her about it though because i aint want to hurt her feelings.)

What the!! Nice talking there!! Sheesh!

I agree with Kathy. If you bite it once it swells then gets in the way. That really hurts! I have done it a time or two. I think everyone has. I hope it feels better soon! Hope you don't get a canker sore now. That happens sometimes too then it hurts for a long time UGH!!.

It is very easy to rebite your lip or gums after once biting it.  I think I'm an expert since I have done it so much.  And you're right.......damn, does it hurt!!

I bit the inside of my mouth last month sometime, and I, too, was baffled by my ability to screw up chewing after all this time.  And, yes, I did it again a minute later.  Maybe that's just nature's way of telling us to stop pigging out?
Maybe you can work up a dissertation topic on this?  The world needs these questions answered.

I don't know how ones bites their lip eating a bagel. Course I haven't eaten a bagel in a while so maybe things have changed.  I usually bite the inside of my mouth from rabid chewing.

I don't know if I've ever bit my lip, but I have bit the hell out of my tongue before and more than once. That hurts just as bad, if not more!  I have bit the inside of my cheek before too. Nothing feels better than that...NOT LMAO
