The Logston Brothers and myself rode into Ushuaia on September 10th, at 4:30 P.M. and successfully brought this long adventure to a close. There was no hootin and hollerin like I had thought there would be, no exuberant yells and debauchery, only quiet repose as we sat on the curb in Ushuaia and waited for directions to the hotel.
Within an hour after arriveing at the hotel I pulled out my notebook just to see if I could possibly do some diagnostics on it and find out what the source of the problem was (I have learned a lot about fixing laptops on this trip). I figured there was a good chance that my computer was long gone after being frozen in the night and thawed in my trailer bag every day for months and my only hope was that it was somewhat salvageable. Well I tell ya, I think the South American Digital gods had finally decided I had had enough because lo and behold my computer worked beautifully and the episode I thought I lost for the third time in Chille was all there in perfect working order. I almost cried.
So now the Logston brothers have gone their seperate ways, John back to New York and Mike continues to travel South America with his girlfriend (not on bikes), and I am on my way back to Los Angeles tonight. I feel very strange, don't no how to describe it, kind of a mix of anxiety and excitement. I know I am going back to a life I left before 10 months later where everything will have changed, but at the same time I can barely remember how it was. Most of all I know I've changed, and I am apprehensive about how my life in America will change because of that.
I am very pleased that I completed one more episode before my trip was over, it is really a big accomplishment for me. Now I have the large job of completeing this episodic documentary, which I am very commited to doing. Hope you enjoy, thank you everybody who supported me.
Blessings to you all, live your dreams,
Nateon
