Impact Music is an independent music publisher with a select roster of great writers covering a range of music genres.  We provide music publishing and administration services.

What is music publishing ?

Music publishing is all about  developing, valuing and protecting your music and songs.  Music publishers play a vital role in the development of new music and in taking care of all aspects of collecting songwriting royalties, allowing songwriters to concentrate on their creative work.

What kind of administration is involved?

Registering songs with collection societies

Tracking and claiming any past royalties due to the writer

Completing and lodging any international claims

Providing details of live performances & broadcasts to PRS

Submitting claims for all mechanical royalties

Preparing accurate royalty account statements

What other services can Impact Music provide?

Seek exploitation for songs

Provide creative assistance for writers

Advise writers how to maximise songwriting royalty income

Provide advice on other publishing matters eg songwriting splits within bands

Can I do the administration myself?

Of course you can, just in the same way you can do most of the work accountants do for you.  But that does not mean it is always cost effective or the best use of your time to take it on.  Many writers prefer to concentrate their efforts on songwriting, recording, gigging, building their fanbase and working hard to secure that record deal.

Why should I consider Impact for publishing and/or administration?

We are a boutique publisher and that gives us the advantage of being able to offer very flexible terms to meet your unique needs.    Because we have a very select roster of writers, we are accessible to our writers so you won’t just hear from us once a year. 

We understand that for some writers, your time with Impact Music is the first step in taking your music to the next level and it is in our interest to help you get there by positively promoting you and your songs wherever possible – our success as a publisher is linked to our writers’ success – so we have to work together on this !

What sort of terms can I expect?

Impact Music does not have a standard publishing or administration agreement because we are able to treat every artist individually to meet their specific needs.  All our contract terms are based on a number of factors relating to the songs including; past/future commercial releases and in which territories, likely public performances and/or broadcasts etc
