So today I'm sitting on my couch, in front of a nice warm fire, feeling overwhelming gratitude for all the blessings and fun I've had in 2008! It has been a memorable year loving with you all, playing for you all and praying for you all. Certain events, places and people really stay in my heart! OBOC, Camp RAD, New Jersey, Benton Harbor, Michigan; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Texas, Illinois, BSC, St. Catherine's, Father Ryan High School, NCCYM, Portland, Oregon; Jasper, Indiana; Mercy Corps, World Vision, OCP, SpiritandSong.com, Albie Entertainment, CAM, NACYML, my family (immediate and extended), friends and fans! I want to wish you all a blessed, beautiful Christmas/Holiday and a joyous New Year.
It's no secret that I made the jump from full-time husband/dad/teacher to full-time husband/dad/artist and thanks to everyone, 2008 was a fairly smooth transition. My family still has all that it needs: love, food, clothing and shelter. How can I ask for more? But there are people who still don't even have these basic needs covered. Nonetheless, our call for community action this year has been received not only in our own backyard, but worldwide too. I'd like to give kudos to everyone who has helped provide food, clothing and shelter to those in need. You're doing it in all kinds of amazing ways: goodwill runs, angel trees, soup kitchens, crisis counseling, food drives, anonymous giving. Wow! I'd also like to thank those who supported the efforts of Mercy Corps by downloading my single, "Tune of Ignorance" through I-tunes. 100% of the proceeds thus far were donated to Mercy Corps' work in Sudan. It felt so good writing that check and reflecting on all the good people behind it. Thank you! I'm sure Mercy Corps thanks you, and most importantly the beneficiaries in Darfur would embrace you... if they could. The measure we give is the measure we get back in full!!!
I pray that you all have a nice relaxing Christmas with lots of love, hugs, mistletoe, and more! May joy come to you through giving, receiving and sharing glad tidings with family and friends. KNOW THAT YOU ARE LOVED! And most importantly, remember…
"For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting." John 3:16
Merry Christmas!
In Peace, Love and Understanding-
Greg
