ahh, tour... this is really the first break in the excitement that we've had so i figure i'd take a minute to let you know how it's all going. we're currently staying in hollywood with our friends in oh no not stereo. i think we might swing by the staples center in a little bit to pay our respects to the king of pop. the music world lost one of the last remaining greats. it's crazy to think that he's not here anymore, but the notion that he's dead... kings don't die.

alright, i'm getting off on a tangent, we've got a day off before our next show down in san diego so we're getting some much needed rest. the first show of this tour was in boise (which they will adamently inform you that it is pronounced boy-see, not boy-zee). we actually have a couple of friends in the area so it was great to see them. our show in seattle was cancelled on july 4th, but we were lucky enough to book another last minute show while we were still in boise. we were even invited to a bbq by some locals that we met the night before. nothing compares to denver on independence day, but it was a great day, none the less. so thanks so much to our new friends.

we had a show in portland the following night, and since that's where our friend steffen lives, and he had the week off, we decided to pick him up and bring him with us on the rest of the tour. we spend a full day driving south from portland to hollywood. it was a rough drive. around dawn, i swear i started hallucinating that the vampires from twilight were sparkling in the distance. it was time to switch drivers. we eventually rolled into town around midnight and shared a round of drinks and hugs with the boys in oh no. not a bad way to end a day that involved an 18 hour car ride.

we have a couple more shows before we head back to denver and play big gig at fiddler's green on the 11th (you're all coming, go get tickets), then we're leaving again for a few more dates. we'll fill you in on the rest of the tour as it happens, but for now, we're putting on some white gloves and heading down to honor a legend.
