Ok, first off, who went to Beautiful Days?
Good wasn't it?
WMOL were immensley touched by the enthusiastic response to their set and to the (rather pathetic some might say) plea from Mr Portas for people to buy merchandise so that the band could afford to get back to London.
I can assure everybody that the band did in fact have plenty of money to buy petrol & Ginster's Cornish Pasties and sincerely hope that no one was truly taken in by this rather transparent attempt to increase album sales by resorting to such toe-curlingly blunt emotional blackmail.
I can only assume that all those kind people who did make a purchase did so due to an insatiable desire for more of the blistering tour de force that was the WMOL set rather than a misguided sense of charity. Either way demand was such that the band can now afford enough petrol to tour the UK at least half a dozen times whilst drowning in a sea of service station delicacies should they so wish.
Seriously the band would like to thank everybody who has bought the album either at Beautiful days or via the web site and for the fantastic messages of support that we continue to recieve. Makes it all worthwhile.
For those of you waiting to purchase the music through more modern avenues the album will be available through all the usual new fangled interweb downloadable sources from Nov 26th so get yer Credit cards ready!
I would now like to turn to a more serious matter.
We have recieved a number of polite enquiries as to the health of Martin, due largely to the percieved size of Mr Olofsson's mid rif as photographically displayed from the recent Beautiful Days Festival.
It is my great pleasure to announce that Martin is, indeed, expecting and...... what's that?.....not?.....ahh i see....really?...
Sorry about that everybody...It seems i had the wrong end of the stick there.Apparently it is Martin's good lady wife, the lovely Myrto, who is expecting their first child.I'm sure all would like to join me in congratulating Myrto and Martin and wishing them all the best for a blissful family future.Nice work guys!!
Unfortunately, the down side of this blessed event is that Martin is currently experiencing the pressures of impending fatherhood to such a degree that he will be unable to join WMOL on their upcoming London and Sheffield dates.
Those who have a particularly weird obsession with Mr Olofsson's fiddle wizardry should be aware that these two dates will feature no such virtuoso string chicanery and may wish to vote with their feet. Those who feel that the violin is a bit of a poncy instrument that has no place in a rock band may wish to mark these dates as unmissable.Ya pays yer money......
It should also be noted that, bearing in mind Martin's absence, Mr Portas has been putting me under a great deal of pressure to get my organ out for these shows. You have been warned...
Love Always
