cd v. 1.0 is nearing completion. As is the custom in the music industry, the approaching completion of a recorded project signals the beginning of shameless whoring of said project; thus, I now begin to whore.
cd v. 1.0 has been in a constant state of flux for quite some time. It was even completed once late last fall...I got drunk and listened to it one night and was so disgusted with it that I erased all of the masters. The newly recorded tracks are more to my liking, and hopefully yours as well.
The "cd" in cd v. 1.0 stands for "Crappy Demo". The tracks will be mixed very hot but not mastered to the point of sounding "polished" or "overproduced". The idea is that this CD sound as raw as possible.
The tracks that are currently posted on Myspace are not the final versions.
The artwork that I had originally planned to use for the cover was very colourful and frankly hard on the eyes. The new artwork (courtesy of the Mistress of Madness herself, Summer Jarrell) is more simple and visceral, which I think is more in keeping with the overall tone intended with this release.
All of the tracks on cd v. 1.0 were recorded using a drum machine---this is an unfortunate result of bible-belt residence. By the time cd v. 1.0 is released, or shortly thereafter, yours truly should be back home in Louisiana, land of crawfish, Mardi Gras, and Huge Ass Beers To Go. With this move I intend to recruit a savage line up and begin playing in your face at your favourite local venue.
