Finally a movie has come out that breaks black stereotypes rather than support them. Usually movies about African Americans are filled with trite and tired cliques such as drinking 40's, eating fried chicken, smoking crack, and hating white people. It is so rare that a movie will be released that takes a stereotype about black people and totally shatters it. The Movie Pride starring Terrance Howard has done just that.

Black people can swim! I was among the guilty that believed what the media and much of society had presented to me, that black people stayed away from swimming like Jews stayed away from bacon. Now thanks to Lionsgate I finally know the truth. I never thought I would be so happy to hear about a movie that Tom Arnold was in. Although I have no intention of ever watching the movie Pride I was happy to see a trailer that broke a stereotype rather than encourage one. Swim my black brothers, swim!
