I've been trying to think of ways to say this that won't come off sad or depressing or defeated or anything but positive: MinusMyThoughts is no longer a band.
There will be two final shows, one in Kalispell (the original hometown) and one in Missoula (the adopted hometown). We're playing these shows for three reasons:
1) Closure. We want to leave a firm exclamation point at the end of the MinusMyThoughts story, rather than a question mark or ellipsis.
2) Friendship. Through all of this, we have remained friends. We will continue to support each other's musical endeavors, and we will continue to call on each other for love and anything we may need.
3) For our friends. The rumors have been circulating for the last week or so about the demise of MinusMyThoughts, and we've all received heartwrenching phone calls from our close and not-so-close friends and fans. We want to play one more time for you, to let you know that it really was your love and support that kept us going, and it will be your love and support that brings us together one more time to be with you.
You can be sure that each of us will continue on in music in one way or another. Look for Checkers as the newest addition to The Sharktopus, and be sure to keep your eyes on the rest of us for new projects.
We love you all, and we're very sorry if our choices have darkened your day at all. Please know that we all feel this end is the beginning of something much better for each of us.
