After eighteen years in Las Vegas, I have relocated to New River, Arizona. It is time for a complete change as I seek out new opportunties in this hot, barren desert. The music is going along as I set up the new guitar room (studio) in the new house. I wrote a book last month called
On the Road Again; I am currently seeking representation for a literary agent. In the honor of Douglas Coupland, Ken Kesey, and Hunter S. Thompson, this novel takes place in 1994 about the young travels of Ray Guttenburg. Here is the cover jacket of the novel:
Follow up and coming author, Ray Guttenburg as he travels throughout the United States and Canada to find inner meaning of life for himself and the world. In this comedic tale, Ray and his bumbling cast of characters go on a historic ride to ....Woodstock.... where the acid is flowing and the people are just plain weird. Ray's main goal is to get to the bottom of all this mayhem and try to understand what the neo-hippie convocation really means.
Take a trip back to 1994, where Ray is about to go on a journey to the twenty fifth anniversary of ....Woodstock.... with the lost society of generation X. From meeting Ritchie Havens in the ....Newark.... airport at the beginning of his travels, to paranoia about losing his socks in the cold wet rain, Ray attempts to confront the real nature of his friendships and odd circumstances.
After ..Woodstock.., Ray travels up to the ....Hampton....’s to see how the rich really live. Here, he profanely banters with the locals, realizing he doesn't fit into to this up-scale society after-all. Head on out to Canada, where Ray falls in love with a mysterious girl as he covers the land from Niagara Falls to Toronto in search for an actual soul mate. With his travel buddy, Trip, Ray survives hangovers and all night parties while trying to discover the importance of what the world has to offer as they drive down the beaten path of life.
Meet Ray's family in ....Chicago...., and discover the roots of why he wants to become a successful musician and author, only to be held back by his ever controlling parents. Finally, wind up in ....Boulder.., ..Colorado.... where Ray finishes off the trip with a mushroom induced epiphany.
Look for it on a book shelf within the next year or so. Until then, keep on pushing on.
