I saw the debate last night and IMO it was a tie. But if I had to choose a winner than it would be Obama. I think the initial CNN poll right after the debate was 39% Obama, 38% Tie, 23% McCain.
When it came to foreign policy, I admit I had low expectations for Obama but he looked calm, knowledgeable, and very presidential. On the other hand, McCain had bad body language and he seemed to fit a certain stereotype - grumpy old man. But he held his own and didn't back down to Obama.
I think the most important debate is the one for the VP's because Biden is a very good debater however at times he does put his foot in his mouth. Then you have Sarah Palin who is Ms. Congeniality but she has no clue what to say outside of her talking points that have been crammed into her head for like the last couple of weeks. If she gets a tough question and she gives a bad answer than it's pretty much over for John McCain.
