...on your radio?

I have some ideas that I am kicking around but I need YOUR (yes yours) input on your current thoughts about radio?

Do you like what you hear? Hate it? Are there certain types of shows you like to listen to? 100% Music? 100% Talk? 50/50? Do you listen to the radio on the Internet? Do you pay for radio (Sirius, etc)? Would you pay for radio?

Any thoughts you have, you can just post them right here, especially any thoughts on things you would like to see (hear) improve. I really want everyone if you have the time to help a brother out.

Thanks in advance,
LaRonne

God Bless

i am first YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! well honestly i don't listen to the radio because i like Christian music.  i am aware that 1190 is a Christian station here in NY but its on AM.  Most of the music on the AM stations sound full of static and not as rich as the FM stations.  i would be happier if i could sing to let's say "Israel and New Breed" and have just as much bass and crispness as the FM secular stations. I don't mind talking once and a while but i love my music CRYSTAL CLEAR... so yea thats my input...

luv you LB miss u much!

Alright...there are more things that I hate about the radio than like, but I'm sure that doesn't surprise you at all about me ;). First of all, what are all the commercials about? And why do they only play like 6 songs over and over again, there is so much music out there I don't know why we can't get better rotation. I like talk radio if it's funny, and this goes for all sorts of humor in my case. What I don't like is that we only find talk in the morning hours, not really in the afternoon, and since I don't wake up till noon...I think I would like it if in the after noon it was like 20% talk-75% music-5% commercials. Since I have such an issue with commercials and trying to escape from the same 6 songs...ie: Sexy Back, I do infact patron XM radio and it is GREAT! You can listen to all kinds of music with NO commercials and they have all kinds of talk radio station from politics, to sports, to international news, to disney radio...you can even listen to Oprah and Ellen. So I think Satellite is the way to go, it's just a shame that you have to pay for it, but when you consider free radio...it's worth it. Now go read my blog :)

I bet you never thought that I would answer a blog like this, but I happen to have been in thought about this very same subject.

Personally I loved radio until I came south.  Radio here, in my opinion, is not that good.  Even in the higher populated areas I find it to be quite un-interesting.  I would love radio if it had enough to offer.  Personally I love music shows and talk shows that inform and educate people.  There always has to be an attraction with some type of entertainment, like comedy and hyped personalities in the typical morning shows we hear across the country.

I have listened to some radio on the internet, but not often.  If I did it would be a paticular talk show that advertised a particular subject that I have intrest in.  Never just because.  I dont pay for radio but I am thinking about it for the sake of finding something good to listen to.

One of the things I would like to see in radio, and will be researching in the near future is Christian Radio.  The idea is a radio station that is just as entertaining as the the top secular stations across the country but with a Christian focus.  This last point is key, ON AN FM DIAL.

hope this helps ya bro. sorry i didnt notice this sooner

I wanna hear some MUZAK!! Cut the chitter chatter in half and pump up the volume to the music!  I listen to the hip/hop & R&B stations on occasion but when I listen to them, it's like the DJs play the same song, almost in the same rotation and they like to chitter chatter. Give me the brief run-downs on some news, world events, and music culture and then turn it over to the music, let it speak for itself! I don't think it's necessary to pay for radio, who knew one day you could, but if it takes out the chitter chatter and less comercials, then hey, do what it do!!! It's like t.v, there's commercial after commercial.

I must say, what jasmine's really trying to say is lets boycott all radio stations until they put Janet on heavy rotation.(lol..j/p) But seriously the radio is annoying these days. i'm tired of all the talk shows and what not. There's really only one station who bangs out hip-hop every now and then, and that will be 99jamz and only on Khalids show...so we're talking a couple hip-hop songs a couple hours a day. not enough in my opinion. Being in the music industry myself, i would love to hear real artist who spit real lyrics, and not all this "lean with it rock with it" or "walk it out nonsense."

As for me right now, I dont listen to the radio all that much. If there's a song a a person i'm really feening to hear, i just pop in there cd. 5 for da dub if anyone's interested! I got what u want, got that new jigga..(lol again kidding) So yes thats my input on the radio..It SUCKS!!!!

oh and fyi..i would love to hear the new Ms.Crystal track "run around" that girl can sing!!!!! lol

I think music should be more inspirational and not so sensational.

Maybe some radio stations that are inspired by more then just money

Who ever thought music might make a connection with the soul

There is so much music out there that is so self or money centered its kinda crazy to think that people actually think immorality is cool.
However i understand that commercials are how radio stations get paid. I understand talk radio sometimes helps people get out of bad situations. So it's not so much about the sender but the listener.

For me i just buy a lot of uplifting CD's and when i get frustrated because im not hearing what i want to hear. I bust out a piece a paper and my keyboard and start writing my own stuff. Thank you for asking.
