You know how I feel about me missing my son, UNLESS your child is in the military. I had someone tell me that they know how I feel....that their son was an hour away at college. HOW DARE YOU even compare seeing your child go off to college, to my seeing my child go off to WAR!!!! You worry about them getting good grades and if he's partying to much. I worry about my son being killed!! You can see your child on weekends and holidays. I won't see my son for 12 MONTHS OR LONGER!!!

Yea, some people don't get it. My son is in Korea for a year, ....he is not in a war zone, and i just had to get used to the idea of him being gone. If they were to deploy him, then the whole game changes and no one can comprehend (not even me) what that will be like....i just can't imagine. My prayers are with you.

Some people can be so cruel. When my dad died, I had a co-worker tell me he's in a better place and to get over it. It's not like he died of an illness and I was prepared. My daddy died in a motorcyle accident unexpectedly. I completely agree with you, unless you are in the same situation, don't compare apples to oranges.

I don't know how you feel. I can only imagine. Know that you and your family and your precious sons are in my prayers daily and thank them personally for choosing to make sacrifices so that my family can have the freedom we have.

Love ya

I just wanted to say that I feel your frustration sort of. I had a hard time with my son going to South Korea, so I get the being gone for so long and so far away. I do not know how it feels to have a son deployed, I'm sure I will one day, but not so far. I also have a son who is in college 5 hours away. IT IS NOT THE SAME AT ALL!!!!! I can call him whenever I want, I can drive over there anytime I want, I can e-mail and myspace/facebook with him everyday. Not so with my son in Korea, although I do get to hear from him more then I'm guessing I would if he were deployed.

I got a shirt from cafepress that says "Don't give me your sob story about your son going off to college mine joined the Army!"

I pray for you and your son daily.

Susan

Having a son stationed over seas is the same as a deployment in my books sweetie!!! I need to find that t-shirt *lol* I also like the saying "my son is serving so yours can go to college and party". {{Hugs}} Girl!!

Hey LaCresha, I FULLY understand what you mean. When my son was deployed a friend told me that she understood exactly how I felt cuz her son had left to go to work in Alabama. OMG, I lost it on her...told her I had no clue there were road side bombs in Alabama!!!!!!! Absolutely no comparison. Hang in there.
It is hard, but he will be safe!!! When his boots hit safe soil, you will breath a sigh of relief!!!
