In the beginning...I was born (going back too far?). Really tho, what is the point of blogging as opposed to chat or forums? In the purpose of moving this process forward I guess I'll just start w/ the basics. I was born in NYC on April 9, 1964. My family moved to Staten Island when I was young and that is where I stayed until May of 1976 when Ma famille et moi mouvrions à France and decided to hang out for a couple of years. I'm pretty sure Franco was dead by then but my bro's still had to cut their hair to go "over the border" to Spain. My dad was a Prof. of Lit at Fordham Univ. and I thought I would do the same. So I pursued and received all my degrees and spent a few years teaching. To my shame and chagrin I discovered that I absolutely hate teaching (much as my father discoverd as an engineer during WWII that he hated engineering and loved teaching the newbies...go figure). My mom is an amateur painter (among her many talents) that doesn't give herself enough credit. It does appear that I missed any collective creative gene that my whole genetic history had to offer. I can't paint, hold a tune, play an instrument (tho I valiantly tried several), nor can I dance, tho Mum and Da sent me to every dance class they could find and one could be shocked at how many types of dance there is in NYC {tap, modern, jazz, ballet, jig (Irish and Scottish)w/ a little gymnastics thrown in}.
Politically, my family and thus me, are ultra-liberal on all social issues while some are more conservative on finacial issues and on the role of gov't in peoples' lives. I have yet to vote for a1 that has won a presidential ticket. I'm not sure whether that says something about me or american politics in the late 20th century.
OK, enough for now. It would be unseemly, and certainly boring, to write my curriculae vitae in one sitting.
Ciao babes!
