Phew ... what a night ... I reckon it's fair to say that last night's debut Aerial Maps show at the old Sydney Mint, as part of the Sydney Writers' Festival, was a monster.
Standing room only, an incredibly attentive and relaxed crowd, a lot of beers drunk and a heap of books sold. Fantastic!
As an inaugural airing of a band and a whole swathe of new "songs", I don't think it could have gone any better.
We played all songs bar two off the upcoming album, plus a few brand new pieces that, I think, took even us by surprise at the degree to which they gelled on the night. In total we played 13 pieces. No wonder I have no voice today.
Thanks to everyone who attended and please let us know loudly and clearly if you enjoyed the show. We certainly did, it was quite special. (If you didn't enjoy the show, well, erm, don't let us know!)
